  1. Awesome fish there champ. Wow very lucky that 45cm trev didnt bust off the 4lb leader once it was wrapped around the anchor. that is a miracle.
  2. Im also convinced that moon has a big impact on snapper fishing. Exactly how ? Im not sure yet. I suspect it has something to do with schooling/swarming of bait which follows lunar cycle. Which in turn causes the snapper to school rather than spread out. so far i beleive snapper fishing after a full moon is best
  3. If the inside of the mouth was orange then its a trag. Looks like a trag to me. Rare to get jews reef bashing off Sydney
  4. Sorry for your loss Stewy and Donna. My condolences
  5. Id pay a million dollars to lay eyes on the ocean right now 😭😭😭 Good on you for getting out Jeff. Any day on the water is a good day.
  6. Nice reddies Jeff. How dark is that humpy...hes been playing in the mud
  7. you forgot the best part ! Wife : that boat wont fit in our driveway Husband: HOLD MY BEER!
  8. Long way to go for some measly luderick, blackfish and wrasse, all of which could be caught here in Sydney. You literally couldnt be any stupider
  9. In order 1. Whiting 2. Flathead 3. Red Emperor 4. Pearl Perch 5. Salmon (tas or atlantic)
  10. Those are some quality eating fish yowie. Awesome stuff. Lucky you can get out. Im only allowed 10km from my house which means fishing for carp and to be honest id rather die of COVID than fish for carp 🤣🤣🥴🥴
  11. Northerners is a great spot, its difficult to fish properly without a spot lock or without anchoring up. During warmer months at northerners ull find snapper, trag, kingies. Fish the edges for flathead. Might be worth investing a few hundred bucks to get a spare fuel tank added to the boat.
  12. Welcome aboard Paddlejumper. There is some good fishing to be had off Sydney. I have been fishing the reefs off Sydney for a very long time and like to think i get some consistency in my results. With the type of depths your willing to go (2nm) you will notice some very clear and distinct features of the Sydney coastline. South head to Coogee - Empty sandy bottom and very minimal reef opportunities, particularly in the depth range you've restricted yourself to. North head to manly - lots of reef, mixed with sandy bottoms. Manly to Long reef - lots of reef mixed with sandy bottoms. When the flatties are on the chew - it is worth giving it a go around the sandy bottom infront of the lighthouse off Watsons Bay/Vaucluse - rosetta in the 30m to 50m line. otherwise, bottom line advice from me, go north. explore the reefs between Manly and Long reef as in my experience, the north side of Sydney heads is significantly more productive than the south.
  13. We definately are blessed to live in this country with such fertile environment. Thanks Pickles Thanks Mate. A very easy species to target. The one trick to getting a bag is FINDING them....after that its usually a fish a cast Thanks BN Indeed a shame scratchie...but a short, temporary and necessary sacrifice 😔 I have plenty more photos, might post some up later tonight Thanks Donna Cheers. We have a double freezer at home That being said, i never fish alone, and most of the time there are 3 people onboard, sometimes 4. So by the time you divide it all up, give a few fish to the neighbour and the in laws, theres barely any left over for the freezer.
  14. Thanks mate. I havent purchased fish in a very long time. Always fresh Thanks Z After lockdown well be visiting Bellambi together 🤞🤞 Thanks Wazza Its frustrating, but i take solace in that it is temporary. Sooner or later vaccine numbers will be up and we can open the doors. Thanks Jenno. As soon as lockdown ends expect the ramps to be chockazzzzz Thanks Mark. Ive been fishing with dad for over 10 years now. A blessing
  15. Gday Raiders Have been spending a bit of time going through old photos and cleaning up my computer with all this extra spare time during lockdown. This really sucks............im dying to get out for a fish. Ive posted many reports over the years, but below are a few photos from fishing trips over the years. Heres looking forward to the next report !
  16. Great Report Z - some good looking fillets there too. The whales do give a good adrenalin rush - especially when they get close enough to make you need a fresh pair of undies !
  17. So what happens when the rules dont change and lockdown gets extended for 6 months...like those poor folks in Victoria suffered. Dont for a second think NSW are doing a better job, weve simply just been lucky. just saying.....

  19. Hi Jono, sounds like your fishing from a boat? If so, dont waste your time inside the pittwater. you have farrrrr better chances outside. Particularly the reefy edges around long reef.
