  1. I was not sure if it was a Kathetostoma leave or a Ichthyscopus sannie either.
  2. No worries Pete, good luck with this as well. It gives me a idea on where to use one, though some big critter may eat it and take it home.
  3. Its a Stargazer of some sort. Not sure which on though. Certainly not a common catch.
  4. Really simple, just do a one turn Catspaw knot.
  5. Peter not sure what you're after but it looks like you just thread the cord thru the hole them turn the ring back over itself like your making a cats paw. Is the problem connecting to the split ring. Looking at the photo on the YouTube clip is this what you mean. Not the opening of the clip but where you see the split ring.
  6. Have a Google search there seems to be a bit of info on them.
  7. Great report there Neil, thanks for keeping us up to date. Sad to hear about the Wakool and Edwards as I did a bit of fishing in those in my younger days.
  8. Awesome fish there Neil. Congratulation to Luke and you for mastering technology so we can see those iconic Aussie fish. Really like the song you chose as well, who is it. Thanks.
  9. Thats great, your certainly not waisting any time.
  10. I recon the snout is to pointy Ravinggg for a Bull Shark.
  11. If I had to have a guess. Dusky Whaler, Carcharhinus obscurus Would have been fun off the beach.
  12. Rough stab, Gunther's Wrasse.
  13. Thats a nice mixed catch. Certainly entertaining not knowing what the next fish is going to be.
  14. Good on-ya for spending time with your dad, it seems the older I get time passes to quickly and I forget important people. The Wrasse, well there's a few different types, if you could describe it a bit more that would be helpful.
  15. Curtesy of ABC Online. Just north of Narooma. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-11/white-pointer-shark-steals-fish/8017218
  16. Don't forget the Giant Herring as well.
  17. They have caught Jacks in there.
  18. Eastern Kelpfish. Have a look in Aquarium as they have come up a couple of times before. Not poisonous, eating wise, not sure as I don't know anyone who has eaten one. Mind you to get one big enough to eat would be a challenge.
  19. Thanks Dave, when you put up that suggestion I googled it (because I've never heard of that critter) and found it on the Australian Museum site. I didn't think it looked like the fish in question, but hey I'm happy to be wrong so the fish is positively ID'ed. All good mate, met Neville Coleman a few times in the 80's and have a few stories but that another time. Gordon.
  20. Howie I think it could be out of its area the Gulf Gurnard and it doesn't seem to have the spines or ridges on its head. Happy to be wrong though.
  21. If I had to have a guess and it was caught on the south coast of NSW. Common Gurnard Perch. Noesebastes scorpaenoides Guichenot.
  22. The Pearl perch is certainly not a common catch off Sydney to. Good effort Gordo.
