  1. Mike 2153 First of all is your gear , try to fish as light as possible , I'm using my micro jigging rod spooled with 20 kg braid with 1.5mtrs 30kg leader, always start with 8oz sinker and work up if you can't hold bottom , when you drop to bottom and depending on current you really have to stay in touch with the bottom , this will mean letting out huge amounts of line to stay there , the alternative is using 1 lb sinkers (hard work) On getting bites , I find that giving line instead of striking will get you more fish , using circle hooks lets the fish hook themselves but once hooked you need to set the hook and keep the pressure on at all times. My bait of choice has to be Hawksbury Prawns , 1 kg bag kept on ice so they are always fresh on the hook , worst thing to do is just leave bag on bait board so they cook in the sun Any ways all the best , btw I have no idea regarding surface fish, always have ago but always finish up doing the flathead drift of shame
  2. Sorry lads , new to forum and Botany Bay fishing , where is the best place to target squid in the bay? What time is best and can you catch them all day ? Cheers
