    Water quality?

The water quality last Tuesday was still terrible in the Hacking.. What made it worse was only 2 fish caught between the 2 of us all day: a just legal flatty (released) and an undersize tailor.. hopefully when I get back from my work trip its cleaned up.. The Hacking just aint the same when you cant see the bottom...
  2. Hi Guys, Have a rare midweek day off tomorrow (Tuesday) and was going to put the boat in down the Hacking. How is the water quality atm? Last weekend after the storms it was shocking, but i'm hoping its a bit better as the rain hasnt been as bad.?
  3. took a blackfish on a metal in the hacking yesterday.. threw the metal past a school of fish on the surface and brought back a luderick. my bro also took a ludersick a month ago in the same situation. was unaware that they schooled in estuaries.. they looked like a bait ball cruising around on the surface..
  4. mmm snapper!! well done on the persistence.
  5. After waking up early, only to lose a couple of crew members to hangovers, me and the bro put the boat in down at yowie bay. Decided to hit a spot we've had a bit of luck with lately for some rat kings. They were definitely around, with the first cast seeing a king tail the lure all the way back to the boat. Had a bit of luck on some aussie salmon, along with a whole bunch of sub 30cm reddies. Unfortunately the couple of kings we did get on to busted us off on the bottom... From there moved to gymea and pulled up some mini tailors and a red gurnard that we had to use the fishraider forum to identified. Much to the bro's despair we'd already sent him back before we read that they are quite good eating.. All in all, was good ot get out on the water.. And a major positive was getting the boat back, washed and cover on before the storm hit!
  6. Hacking for some kings and aussie salmon.. wouldnt be unhappy with some decent size tailor either..
  7. GOod stuff sebcox. Awesome when you find a land based spot that delivers consistently.
  8. G'day Geoff, Just bought a Quinnie 475 Bayhunter. Awesome boat for the estuary. Haven't taken it outside yet, but planning on taking it around the heads at Cronulla once I get a bit of confidence up. Should handle it fine on a good day. Great boat for fishing with 2, max 3 ppl.. I know a few ppl with the Quintrex Freedom Cruiser or Cruisabouts (bow riders). They seem to be perfect family boats with heaps of space. Not sure how much they are though? Good Luck!
  9. Unlucky @Beginner. I feel your pain. Don't seem to be able to crack the Hacking land based. Any chance of a PM for some spots I should try? Thx
