    Interestingly, our group never fishes that shallow. I think it may depend on the terrain. Some Harbour spots we’re 20’ deep. Most spots are 9 to 12’. Mind you, in the boat yard at work I see them grazing on the rock wall in just a couple of feet of water.

    Ferry wharves aren't THAT crowded on a Sunday in my experience and you fish on the side away from the ferry anyway. Just be tidy, take up minimal space and you'll be right. We often get ppl coming for a chat or just a look see. Be aware some wharves have no fishing before a certain time I think eg Abbotsford is a nogo before 10am Good luck, hope you and the kids have a good time!

    Was blackfishing off the rocks recently and had a fella tell me my 12’ rod was too big, I should get a nice light rod like him ..... it was only 6 or 7’. He had to get right over by the edge to keep fish off the rock AND wash em up, got snagged on the edge several times... I said yeah.... nah, I’ll be right. I’m with you Twin.
