Hey there, Has anyone been seeing any land-based surface action of pelagics like bonito and frigates in areas like cliftons and middle harbour? The water temp is starting to warm up alot in those areas but still haven't heard of many land based reports of anyone catching those species. Thanks!

Hey guys, Went out for a fish today in the harbour to chase some kings landbased. Went about 3 hours dry without getting a bite. I did notice them devouring the pillie cubes i threw out, but no luck on hitting my actual hook. I tried for some bonito a few hours later and landed about 3 on the squid skirt. Would anyone know if something like a popper would work for kings? What do you think would be the best tactic for hooking one up if you see them busting up on the surface often? Cheers

Hi swords, I have fished off the rocks in places such as Hill 60 and bass point, however, it's a long drive from home and i'm not as keen to go there as often as I used to. I'm aware of swell heights/periods, winds and all that fun stuff. But I have just never tried any spots that I mentioned before as wollongong can be very productive at times. Any insight would be great, but I understand if anyone feels hesitant on giving away a rock fishing location due to the precautions you must take. Thanks.

Wow nice catch. was just wondering what your set up was like as I'm having a tough time with landing the kings. I was at clifton gardens the other day using unweighted pillies. The kings were there but they weren't on the bite. They'd rush to the bait, look at it for a second and then swim away. I was using pillie cubes with 4/0 gamakatsu octopus hooks.

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone can give me an area in Sydney (Northern Beaches, Palm Beach, Harbour) where it would be productive to do some rock/beach fishing. I would specifically like to target fish such as kings, bonito and snapper. If anyone can give me an insight on where I might be able to find a productive spot it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
