  1. haven't had a solid rain for a while. It could be that the water is too clear at the moment?
  2. Good work there yowie... haven't been on the water myself for at least 8 months now but it is always good seeing your reports. keep them coming mate
  3. Mate I have the exact same issue with you and my parts been rusted for 5 years. When I was going to go and get it replaced I was told you would do more damage to the engine replacing this part. Its a cast iron part so I was told it would be better to brush off all the rust and use some of the anti rust solution and then paint it and it will be fine. In the process of doing it at the moment
  4. good fish mate... always wanted to wet a line around there. You didn't get hassled by any council rangers did you?
  5. solid session of Brighton mate... good to see the whiting are still around
  6. hey guys, After being off the water all summer finally got to fish the hacking sunday morning. Hit the water early off lilli pilli and was able to hit a solid school of bream hanging in the shadows near the pontoons. Landed 3 of them, all above 40cm with the largest at 44.5cm. All fish caught on Pillies. It was pretty hard work trying to drag the fish away from the pontoons as the fish would dart for cover once hooked. lost 2 others at the structure. Once the sun hit the water the fish were gone. landed a 65cm flattie also. All in all a good days fishing. Anthony
  7. My recommendation is to start early. Be fishing at 6:30. The fish in the hacking seem to drop off once it gets too bright. If you are fishing later in the day fish the shadows - moored boats, pontoons etc. The fish tend to hang there in the brightness of the day.
  8. Solid session mate how sis you get the mullet to take the bait. They are around all the time but not a bit interested
  9. Nice solid flatties there mate... well done!
  10. Ive caught a 2 small cobias in the hacking over the year, mainly in late summer. Never big monster like the ones in the photos above. They are around.
  11. get out at first light if you can. I find the fish bite better in the hacking when the sun isnt shining onto the water. Also berley hard mate.
  12. looks like you had a solid session mate... the flatties dont usually show up of the beach like that untill much later in the year... Im assuming you are fishing off brighton?
  13. im surprised you got the whiting in the muddy water, i always thought the water had to be pretty clean to find the whiting well done mate
  14. if you go over to the casino side of the harbour i have seen people fishing off there. If you are throwing plastics etc you might get away with it.
