Will be fishing a comp weekend on lake macquarie on the same weekend so heres hoping it will be bream as i have been doing very well on the bream up there lately , getting lots of 25 ers but a fair few 34 to 36 mark, also a few snapper around the 34 mark. Cheers Laurie.

Hi guys you probably get more of a chance to do some fishing when you are not towing other people around the harbour. Thanks again guys it was the shortist fishing trip i have done for awhile. Hi all , have just been notified parramatta council is holding another carp out event this saturday 14 th between 10am and 4pm ,apparently it is a family event with lot of prizes up for offer,licences are available on the day at the event. Cheers Laurie

Hi guys ,i too fished the classic from sat morn till sunday morn ,caught lots catfish and not much else the tides were not very goon neither was the weather ,managed one small jewfish about 60 mark ,but i took pity on the only jew in the river and threw him back alas thats fishing. Cheers Laurie.

Hi , I was up at the St Albans carp comp on sat and sunday,about 80 anglers caught about 55 fish for atotal weight of 130kg, last year 50 anglers caught about260 kg of the dam things, carp caught were either large 7kg to 9kg or 1 to1.5 kg ,every type of bait was tried but they just didnt seem to want to bite ,several small bass about 25 to 30 mark were caught. Fishing starts at 6pm friday night ,you can fish anytime sat or sun but to be eligable for any prizes you must weigh in BEFORE 2.00 sunday at pitt town,you can fish anywhere in the hawkesbury river system but you must not pass lion island ,in other words you cannot go outside the heads.Cheers Laurie.

Hi, the carp comp is on again on the st albans common on 30 october to 1 nov ,cost is $50 to enter , fishing starts at 3 pm friday and finishes at noon on sunday , camping is included in entry fee but you have to take everything you need with you as there is nothing out there only a pub no shops garages or electricity ,nearest shops are at wisemans ferry which is about a thirty minute trip on dirt roads . It is a well run event with some good prizes $300 heaviest carp $200 second prize and $100 third also$150 mystery weight Cheers Laurie.

Finally broke the drought ,or ice more like it cracked a mystical monster <small one about 1300 > on saturday night ,but it was very cold down there i dont really think it was worth it, maybe im getting too old for this s#@%t .There are a few good tides towards the end of the month if anybody is keen maybe we could meet up down there one night before they move on. Water ,very clean after the rain ,however there is still a lack of hairies, there is an abundance of small jewfish under 40 cm .Mustnt complain pleasant night down there for this time of the year ,only had 25 to 30 mm of rain overnight , must get a bigger bilge pump. Cheers Laurie .
