  1. Sadly no, do have the salmon and flattish pics thought. And yeah another guy who squids there said he hadn't seen a bream that big in a year. Unweighted pilly tails. Bloody thing fought well and hard. Haven't had a bream peel off line like that.
  2. Otherwise I would share, I'm a pretty open book, and still learning but won't have fish abused. That sucks.
  3. Nope. I actually don't want to give this spot away as alot of the locals have told me people have been taking undersized pinkies. That's not cool. So for that reason I'm keeping it safe. If fishing properly this spot produces really well.
  4. Hey guys, Long time no post. Been to the hacking twice this week. Landed a 45cm Bream first time round, nice catch and good fight! Second time around landed a 55cm flattish. Was getting those dam pinkies, then BAM Massive run. After a few runs out jumps a big Aussie Salmon. Fight went for 10-15 mins on the light gear. Got him to the wharf and under he goes! Buckled the rod up and slam, straight on the wharf. Fed the family (if prepared, bled and skinned properly they are good eating!) he was 59cm. Can't wait for more!! Tight lines.
  5. Hey guys, Recently getting back into beach and rock fishing and abit lost about gear. I have a heavy 12ft Penn rod but I struggle to cast it. So I was looking to get something lighter and smaller for the beach while still being able to handle big fish. I also wanted advice on a small but decent rod for the rocks. I was looking at the 7ft lion sticks which seemed good to handle the usual rock species. I'm on a pretty tight budget as im not well so it's something im having to keep in mind like no more than $50 a rod. Any advice will be appreciated
  6. Awesome i will give that a shot next time I'm out
  7. I should of guessed so. Any ideas on land based areas for Trevally and Tailor?
  8. Hey guys, Tried fishing bass and Flinders Point in Cronulla to not much avail. I was told it was a good winter spot for Trevally and Tailor. Basically been fishing off the cliff edge to the right of the point down wooden stairs. I just wanted advice on best times, does tide matter, run in or out? Also what rig and where to cast? Using a size 3 sinker above the swivel with leader with pilly,is that ok? Also do I cast in the reeds or out into the deeper water? Sorry for all the questions just tried everything I can think with no results.
  9. Also for any potential bigger fish in this area what would people recommend? Due to snags ect and using bait with sinkers and getting bitten off im abit lost (and inexperienced)
  10. Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Been out and taken advice and started landing more Bream again next question I have is i recently tried fishing off milperra bridge area, off to the side near the tackle shop. Unfortunately I keep getting bitten off by something, it will hook then either bite through the line (8\b fluorocarbon) or take the hook right off. Haven't got a clue what type of fish this is but not sure how to combat this. Not using any sinkers here either due to snags.
  11. Thanks Neil, How will casting go with heavy wind go with the wind? I usually end up pretty close to the shore. What size sinker would you recommend?
  12. Hey guys new here, So I'm Matt, 25 and this aint a dating site so I will bite the hook. Been fishing the Georges River (Kelso, East Hills Bridge and Georges River national park). Recently with the crazy wind it's been a nightmare and not catchibg anything, maybe the recent floods? Anyhow I only use bait currently as I Want to get good at that before plastics. With casting in heavy wind what's the best rig to get Bream ect? I'm using a 2-4kg Shamans rod, 6lb braid woth a 40cm leader on pilchard (tail, head, cubes) with a size 2 hook. When I had my old Jarvis Walker setup i got HEAPS of Bream (15 in 1 day 3 good keepers) but now nothing, plenty of bites ect i never even used to set the hook. Should I use a heasier running sinker to the hook and swivel in the wind ect just abit lost. Btw old setup was mono Any feedback would be great
