  1. Sounds like my experience so far this year, and last season as well, I fish further down towards Yarramundi in the yak and last time got 4 tiny bass in 5 hours, tried everything, but most noticable was the lack of surface activity . I was on the water before 6 am. I've fished these parts of the river for 30 years and the last season and the start of this are the worst that I've seen.
  2. My first session for the season fishing the yak upstream of Yarramundi was a major fizzer, on the water at 06:00 and put casts into every snag I saw and not a hit until 08:30 which resulted in a 15cm bass, and over the next hour had 3 more bass but all micro sized at about the same 15 cm mark. I didn't see any surface action during the session and went through my range of lures from surface lures , spinner baits and only had hits on deep divers. I covered around 6 km of snags and found it a pretty dissapointing first session for my bass year
  3. With school hoilidays on my daughter wanted to head out for a fish and our planned offshore day was blown away, so we totally changed tactics and headed up to Oberon Dam to see if any trout or redfin were hungry. Arrived about 7:15 am to a cold winndy day. Started out spinning with some Tassie devils and put a line out with Powerbait. Within the first 1/2 hour my daughter had a trout follow her lure to the bank and I had one hit also on a lure , but that was all the action we saw so we left at about 9:30 to try the otherside of the dam. Arrived and started up at about 10 and again began spinning and Powerbait, for not a touch and called it quits after an hour as the wind was freezing, and my daughter spied some mud and puddles on a 4WD track so we ended the day playing in the mud with the Jeep.
  4. I used to fish the dam in past years and had been quite successfull, but haven't tried it for a few years and went out on Friday for 6 hours and have never seen the dam so dead . Water levels were high which meant the water was quite shallow from the shore line. Didn't see a single baitfish in the water, which was a common sight when I fished in the past , nor a single rise from a trout. Used every lure I had, hard bodies, tassie devils, celtas, even tried vibes and soft plastics and also had power bait out for not a single hit or touch on the power bait nor lures . Don't invision returning anytime soon
