Late Report from Lake Wallace First timers at the Lake - thought Id take a mate and try to find a trout or two - conditions weren't good strong westerly reduced the fishing area Tried lures powerbait and a few flies - caught a few small rainbows (just on legal all went back- on the lures - Tassie Devils and some hardbodies and on the powerbait - nothing on the fly -others were also catching similar sized fish There appeared to be some good fish busting up out wide way out of casting distance Enough action the warrant another trip when the weather warms a bit Sorry no pics fr

Long time no fishing due to being a lockdown area and no real water within the 5kms - did venture the 50 metres to my local creek occasionally to drag some carp carp passed the dumped shopping trollies and air con units - 2 or 3 fish a session up to 6kg but mostly around kilo mark. Took a while to work out 4lb line not enough spot them Bit more serious last week - a week a Port Macquarie - fished the wall Tuesday and Wednesday for poor results - 1 decent bream - most fisho's were struggling with few bream or luderick coming in Hit Lake Cathie Wednesday to chase whiting with poppers - 6 fish between 30 and 33 cm - lost a lot more with hooks pulling. Back up Thursday arriving a bit earlier to see tailor breaking up in the lake - scored one at a kilo and a half - fun on 4lb in 1.5 m of water. picked up a 60cm flattie and then a few more whiting before the wind came up Sorry no pics - past experience has shown it is not a good idea to go wading with phone Cheers

thanks Bookwa - certainly not an expert but I used a light 7' rod with 2000 reel 10lb fluro-carbon leader most successful lure was a cheap small clear popper with floating and suspending stick baits also catching fish hope that's helpful

Lon time reader first report - I thought it time I contributed something to the site Just spent 4 days in the Port Macquarie area - first two days pretty slow fishing the main river for Luderick and Bream, only ended up with one of each Against local advice we headed to Lake Cathie for some lure fishing ( mates first time with lures) Had three flatties to 45cm in the first 40 minutes on plastics then moved to a shallower area to chase whiting with poppers - smacked them - must have caught 20+ fish up to about 32cm (only kept a few for a feed) probably lost more than we got including the best fish of the day a local pelican Backed up the following day for similar results with the whiting but only 1 undersize flattie First time popping for whiting - what a buzz seeing them smack the lures Sorry no photos - all on my mates phone
