Hello, I am new to fishing in Sydney, but I have done a little bit of fly fishing and salt water. I am not shy on an bit of a walk and at this stage it will all be fishing from the shore. I have a vehicle so I potentially can access most places which don't require a proper 4x4. I don't have any freshwater gear so a fishing store has a chance on relieving me of some cash. If anyone can give me advice on gear and likely spots I would appreciate it. Looking through the forum Bass and Trout are the main targets. I guess: I am looking at gear around 4kg? The Nepean, Georges rivers and maybe the Cox and Hawkesbury, and lakes in the Blue Mountains. I am not sure about lures. Anything shiny?
