  1. For me it's a combination of things.. 1) I enjoy being outside and on the water 2) Good chance to hang out with mates 3) Being able to occasionally bring something yummy home for the family to eat. Nah, you're just being smart about it. Gotta make sure there are still enough fish around for tomorrow night's dinner as well
  2. I was there last Tuesday around Brighton Le Sands and the water looked fine to me.
  3. Thanks for the tip. It sounds like you know the area well Sounds pretty good. I'll have to check em out
  4. Nice one. Pretty good for a 1 hr session. What sized S.P. did you use to catch that fish, if you don't mind me asking? I've generally used a 3 inch minnow but was told flatties (even the smaller ones) will go for the bigger stuff, so I'm thinking about grabbing some 4 inch minnows and trying them out. 5. The first of many I hope. A very well written report
  6. Nice catch OP! I went down to Lake Illawarra with my cousin for Australia day for some land based fishing. The place was packed. Reached the Tallawalla power station side of the lake around 11am and the carpark was full, a lot of boat trailers and only 1 parking spot left for us. Didn't have much luck on that side - only a few bites and one hook up from a small flatty. Went over to the lake entrance around 1:30pm and it was even more crowded over there.. the shore line had a person fishing every 5-10m. We hit up the sand flats with soft plastics but didn't catch anything. Tried a few hardbodies and live bait too.. For some reason the fish just weren't interested. Spoke to a few other anglers (quite a few from Syd) and no one had caught anything worth keeping... So I'm guessing a lot of people head out and away from the city on Australia day?
