Got home 5 minutes before the postie arrived and wouldnt you know it, my package from Frank turned up. Blown away by your generosity Frank, the perfect few goodies to get the boat on its way to a proper fishing set up. I really appreciate it and hope you will let me return a favor one day. Will have to wait for for the sun to come back out to get them installed but I'm looking forward to it.

Nit yet I haven't. The beach is always a pain when in comes to lugging gear. Backpack might be the go but who knows, maybe this would work. I am hopeful we will see some mind blowing examples here. They can be a real "why didn't I think of that" deal.

I was fishing a few times a week with the Mrs, 2 kids and a baby and ended up with a heap to carry to and from our favorite spots, often along dirt tracks or off road. I looked at buying a caddy but they were a bit pricey and didn't do it for me so I knocked one up in an hour or so with a few bits and pieces and some stuff I had lying around. Provided you have a bunch of stuff flying around like me you will need to buy very little, if not; $25 big pneumatic wheeled trolley from bunnings $15-$25 appropriately sized heavy duty plastic storage tub with lid $8 Occie straps $7-$15 worth of PVC pipe (appropriate size and amount you need) $3 packet of cable ties Total $75 at most Super simple. Cut your PVC to length, as many as you need, cut a notch in them for the reels so the don't spin around. Drill 4 holes through your box per length of pipe. Run your cable ties through and secure your rod holders. Done and dusted. My tub holds a bait bucket full of bait, all my tackle and spare line and gear, some rags and some other little bits and pieces (sunscreen, aeroguard etc) Esky for your food and drink for the day. Secure them to the trolley with your straps and you are sweet. I have wheeled this set up a few KM's on a muddy dirt road with no dramas, all very secure, holds a tonne of wait, and the lid is plenty thick to hold the weight of the esky. I often strap some fold up chairs on too. The big wheels are great over rough terrain. Though you folks here might enjoy my shonky little DIY trolley, looks a bit odd but definitely a life saver and makes family trips a whole lot easier and quicker. Packing the ute is a breeze too. Thank you. 100%. That grew old really quick Its fun with the family when you are set up and in the water but a mission to get everything to the spot. This way we have all wee need (usually more) and can venture a bit further without getting fed up with carrying everything. I considered making sonething similar with an old electric golf cart, maybe one day. I guess the benefit of this is all the components just strap on and still can be used individually for whatever reason. I took the tub in the boat the other day and it was perfect storage. Can use the trolley to move everything in the garage to make room for a bigger boat one day too haha.

Thats it. It has a painted ply floor now, I plan on pulling it up when i can and probably setting up some storage areas like that and carpeting or rubber matting it. Nothing too crazy now, just some comfort things.

Sound advice, thanks. Thought it better safe and sorry on the first day out, would hate to be rowing a few KM's back across Lake Mac with a cooked motor on day one! I have some old throw cushions, but some proper cushions and carpet for the benches and floors are the first priority (beyond preventative maintenance)

They have been fortunate enough to catch a tonne of fish each every time we go out (cant saythe same for myself) but even though qe had no luck, the boat was enough tk keep them entertained this trip. Some good tips there, hopefully get it out somewhere with more action next time.

Heres hoping, will be nice if we ever have a day with sun and no wind

Well the conditions werent ideal but I took advantage of a few hours of sunshine between the bouts of rain to get the boat out yesterday with the kids. More went out to test things out with the boat than to fish, but we did still drop a few lines in. Didn't even get a bite though. Took the 10 minute drive to Dora Creek ramp and cruised up and down the creek. Its a 4 knot zone and you are never far from shore so I felt it was a good testing ground, its a bit out of the elements too. The lake itself had some decent chop going on and I wasnt keen to deal with it. The boat went perfectly, motor runs like a dream, its nice and stable with good space, although it will be better when I work out some storage and a good set up for our gear. Doesn't fill up with water eirher, which I believe is a good thing. 100% needs a tiller extension handle, and the jury is still out on the windscreen and canopy, forward visibility leaves a bit to be desired. Other than that it was fine. Wind got up over 20kmh which made getting it in and out by myself a bit tough but it was manageable and would be easy on a nice day. As for the fishing, we only used one prawn each and they were still on the hooks when we took the boat out. The creek was dirty and running fast after this week or so of heavy rain. I haven't fished the creek before so if anyone knows the good spots I could do with some direction.

We should be able to get something between the lot of us. I work a rotating roster and can usually get out here and there, send us a PM if you ever plan a spontaneous trip up this way. I went out quickly yesterday, no luck but only fished half an hour. Too much rain lately. I took the boat up Dora creek for a test run and dropped a few lines in quickly with the kids. Was definitely not in a good state for fishing with all this rain lately. Not even a bite.

Prawns and plastics, most are caught on prawns though,particularly the bream and queenfish. Plenty of garfish to be caught as livies too, though every time I use one it just gets ripped half.

I have fished the inlets and outlets of the PS from the land, plenty of thumping big bream, queenfish, Small GT's, giant herring, big taylor, leather jackets, blackfish, never go home without catching at least a few each.

That's awesome mate, good work, I would love to bag a few. I'm at Bonnell's bay, just up from the dog park boat ramp but could go in at any of the nearby ramps. Not too familiar with the waterways, have only been land based so far.

Hello. Long time since I posted. I recently relocated to Lake Mac, have been fishing a tonne from the shore and it has been great, plenty of fish and plenty of good water, but I couldnt justify not having a boat any longer! Scoured FB and Gumtree for weeks, missed a few good deals here and there, even had a few good boats sold out from under me after we had agreed on a price and a pick up time! Thats the game I guess. I wanted something small but roomy, its for 2 adults and a 7 and 9 year old, and set myself a low budget (I always go overboard) this is just a toy after all ? I spotted this boat, made an offer and nabbed it, I think did well for $3K. Has a flat floor, plenty of room, very deep and wide, a bit of storage, and the motor is in amazing condition, it had a comprehensive service a few weeks ago and hasnt been used since. The trailer is super tidy too. Won't get it out for a while yet as it looks like rain for the next few weeks, but itching to get on the water and pull a few fish in. Will have to spend the few wet weeks brainstorming mods for it to get it where I want it. Thanks guys.

I have pulled some good Flatties and Bream out from under the road and rail bridges, both sides are good to fish. Plenty of little baby snapper and bream for the kids too. Coming from Gosford way, just turn off the main road and walk down under the bridge, go across the cycle path to reach the other side. Great spot to take the kids, I always take my 6 year old there with me. Plenty of people have pulled big Jewies out from under the bridge too. If you keep going past the bridge into woy woy, take your first left and follow the water, theres a netted pool with a good Wharf for fishing, Bream and flattie there, Salmon sometimes too, caught a barracuda there myself a few weeks back. Went down to the large fishing boating shop to grab some gear to make a few rigs for reef fishing this weekend. Went to look for some snapper sinkers and saw they were clearing their stock of enviroweight lead free biodegradable sinkers. The big ones (12oz snapper style) were selling for 50c for a box of 5 so I went ahead and bought myself 17 boxes which was all their shelf stock, they had more out the back but I had plenty of weight and was already greedy enough. Anyone needing big weights for deep water, give them a ring and see how you go, cant beat 12oz sinkers for 10c each. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
