  1. We just placed an order for a 6.2m Quintrex and I was surprised to see it sitting Rollers
  2. Thanks Yeah I am sure it will be. And it it turns out to be poo I'll just buy another one quintrex seem to hold their value
  3. I hope we haven't made a mistake we bought an Aussie made Jayco new and it wasn't that good ended up selling it and buying another Aussie made camper and it is brilliant I am hoping the Quintrex is a quality made OZ product It's our first boat so we will learn I am sure
  4. Nice looking units Sadly no bow rider but they do build custom
  5. Brilliant I'll see you out on the water
  6. Well an Update Order placed Quintrex 610 matched to a baby Verado 200 now I have to wait 6-8 weeks for the motor We did a lot of looking but keeped coming back to the same boat it seems to tick most boxes We wondered around the boat show for hours and noticed lots of Mercury dealers so I guess there are either lots of people fixing them or they work well so either way we either get support or I get a good engine We are very excited it's our first Boat
  7. I just bought one from Jaycar at around $100.00 its an expensive iphone charger at least. I'll try it on my car and if it works bonus they do seem to be good quaility. I bought it for my trackbike it doesnt get started much so dead batterys are a common thing it should start a 900cc motorbike. well im hoping
  8. Thanks all I am looking forward to the boat show to check out the competition
  9. We are also looking at large Bowrider as well do you know if the above brands are going to be at the boat show in sydney
  10. Thanks all Budget wise I am looking at between 60-70k The 610 cruiseabout is a 6m Boat with the same Hull as the 610 Trident which is an off shore boat. Now I am not expecting to go out in crappy weather but the Hull Height should keep some of the water out As for the Motor its really interesting I had not looked at the torque figures re 2s and 4s thanks I'll do some more homework As for the Champagne part this is the Happy Wife Happy Life. I can either cover in the Bow when I go fishing or replace the seats with the casting deck for the rivers. Being an Ally Boat with minimal fabrics I am Hoping I can keep the smells at bay. I'll see how I go with that The extended Bimmi just gives you some extra sun protection and the clears will only be put on when the weather turns iffy.. Thanks all Beam: 2.48m Bottomsides: 5.00mm Depth: 1.40m Height on Trailer: 2.23m Length Maximum: 6.16m Length of Hull: 6.08m Length on Trailer: 7.18m Main Motor Weight: 256kg Max. HP: 200hp Min. 11. Hello all !!!! looks like a great forum with heaps of info We are new to boating and have never owned a boat before. As a child my father always had a boat and he still has it an old Pongrass with a I think a 25HP Yamaha. Anyway I have been doing a bit of research and been looking at boats. The requirements are Capable of going a few K's offshore fishing (for me) Capable of being a champagne boat for pottering around the harbour with wife and a couple of friends Lying down in the sun Not to small your tripping over each other Not to big to tow I have a TRD Hilux that can only tow 2.25T Possible Skiing ( I use to ski when I was younger and may try again) So the boat that seems to fit A Quintrex Cruiseabout 610 Now for the Motor I am so confused I like speed so should I be looking at a 200HP or is a 150HP ok ? What are the advantages of 2 stroke over 4 stroke ? I understand 2 stroke no longer needs you to mix the fuel like before Are the Quintrex any good I had a look at a new one and was surprised at the dirty stained upholstery and it was straight off the truck really shouldn't have gotten through Quality control. Reminded me of a new Jayco we bought and sold 3 years later. Everything was there but the workmanship lacked, you really only noticed when you look closely. It drove me nuts option list so far rear door trailer spare wheel table extended Bimmi with clears live bait box bait board casting deck Deep sounder (no idea here) Should we get It painted or show I get it wrapped? Am I on the right track ? We will be heading to the boat show to check out other boats any other suggestions
