  1. Sounds like you have a crossed wire either in the 7 pin plug or due to corrision in the wiring. It is a good idea to replace the entire wiring if when you replaced the 7 pin plug the copper wires to the trailer looked greenish colour.
  2. Brisbane Waters can be a funny place to fish. Sometimes its red hot and you are assured of a feed every time you hit the water, other times it seems to be baron of fish. Not sure why this happens, tides, moon phase, bait fish, who knows but it is always a good day when you are on the water
  3. Hi big Neil just a test, hope you get this

  4. Great flattie, good way to start with a new boat, well done
  5. Boat name. Lone Star call sign + Marine Rescue. Lone Star or CC221 20 foot fiberglass half cab, red hull white top mainly around Broken Bay, Hawkesbury River, Pittwater and their abouts VHF monitor channel 16

    Members Boats.

Here is mine, Yalta craft Odessa 2000, 20 ft half cab, 1986 model with a mariner 200 hp hanging off the back, great boat for swells , handles big seas quite well , easy to launch and retreive, with the back bimbi holded a lot of deck room.
  7. That is what I like, quick and simple. Very nice
  8. Well its been 9 weeks since I was laid up with a broken leg, took the boat out today , launched from Koolewong went out past Ettalong, (man the sand flats are closing up the channels). Had a fish in the Hawkesbury River around Bar Point and then Mullett Creek, caught 2 pan size flatties and 2 keeper bream. Nothing to brag about but oh boy wasnt it great to get out in the boat and wet a line or two again. It was such a beautiful day on the water, plenty of boats fishing all over Broken Bay, Hawkesbury River and Brisbane Waters. Plenty of jet skies around too, watch out for them because they cannot see you for some reason. Also called in to see Parsley Bay boat ramp, it looks good what they have done , looks a lot more user friendly.
  9. Bloody hell, some people are low lives, this would have taken a while to do and may be two people doing it, scum that is all I can say about them, long shot but lets hope karma comes back to haunt them.

  13. Plenty of seals around Broken Bay, they can be buggers at time but great to see them around
  14. Have a look and laugh at this one.
  15. Unable to go out fishing whilst laid up with a broken leg, my dearest bought me home some bream fillets she picked up at the local fish shop. I must admit they where very fresh fillets , smelt really good with firm white flesh. I made a light curry sauce with some coconut cream and Thai green curry paste, boiled up some Basmati rice then poached the cut up fillets in the curry sauce for about 10 minutes on a low slow boil. It was excellent, nice and smooth curry with the fish pieces in it , beautiful. I have not been keen on curried fish before but must admit I will be making this one again.
  16. Taking the day off work only to have a bloody crow steal brekky, hahaha good one nothing like cold pizza yummmmmm. Great looking fish, at least you did not go without a feed.
  17. The state goverment are buying up most of the commercial fishing licenses in the Hawkesbury area over the next couple of years. There was a post about this afew months ago.Lets hope the jewie will survive
  18. Good session, really nice fish
  19. They look good so will cook up well
  20. Trailer set up, boat ramp with floating pontoon and weather conditions are key to handling a boat by yourself. Make sure trailer rollers or bunks are in good condition, winch is easy to operate and easy to wind in and out. Boat ramp choice is important if boating by yourself more so than with another person. Is it easy to launch and retreive from , what is the ramp like at low tide, is there a pontoon to tie up to whilst getting the car and trailer if buy yourself you dont want to beach the boat whilst parking or retreiving the trailer. Weather conditions when single hand boating is important, not only when out fishing , remember to keep an eye on the weather but also when retreiving the boat at the ramp, wind blowing from the wrong direction (depends on ramp and location) can make loading the boat onto a trailer awkard if not impossible by yourself. If you are having trouble at a boat ramp by yourself, be a man and ask for help, majority of people will give you a hand no worries as we have all needed a helping hand at some stage. If ever I see people in trouble at the ramp I always offer my help.
  21. Sounds a great trip and to add whales in as well, what a trip. Well done
  22. Man o man that was a great read and laugh, we have all been there and done that. I remember one of the first times in my boat I told the wife to through the anchor out, which see did but did not tie it off ( I did not tell her to tie it off) , my mistake, how could someone not know to tie an anchor rope off?...... Anyway we all learn by our mistakes.
