  2. Hi all, I've recently relocated to Ballina and am unsure on boating etiquette.Im inexperienced when it comes to boating in salt water as I'm from Vic and fish on the Murray and Lake Mulwala .My set up is basic 12' savage v bottom and 9.9 hp Johnson. Would this type of set up be ok for fishing the rivers and creeks around Ballina? , is a marine radio a requirement?, Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. i

  8. Hi Jeff, I'm insured with RACV , they're premiums are reasonable and I've not had any issues with making a claim. In regards to securing your boat chains and locks are a good deterrent but a cordless grinder will cut through them all, if your happy to spend extra time remove the hitch and wheels its a bit of work but it will only make it harder for someone to steal. Perhaps install a gate on your carport, or some lockable/removable bollards and leave a vehicle parked in front of it to make access difficult for theives. A motion activated camera or alarm is another option. Hope this helps, enjoy your new boat. Cheers. Cheers.

    More power

Hi all, I have an old 3.7meter Savage Snipe powered by a 9.9 hp Johnson, the info tag on the seat States max hp 10, can I go to a fifteen or must I stay at 10 hp ?. Thanks.
  10. Hi , unless you have your heart set on a brand new trailer another option is to speak to the guy your buying from and see if he can organise a quote to have the trailer overhauled, including installation of brakes, new tyres, wheel bearings ,check lights and wiring and fix the rust and have it checked so it complies with your states road laws. It will add dollars to the purchase price but may work out as a cheaper option in the long run as you know this trailer suits the boat and there's no head aches associated with towing it home. Best of luck. Cheers.
  11. Hi , hangers aren't very expensive, if you know someone who is handy with a welder I would install the hangers , problem solved. Cheers .

  14. Hi All, is there a composite decking material available to buy instead of using marine ply for a false floor? If so where is it available? Cheers. Space Ace.
  15. Hi All , I'm just getting back into fishing , I will be bait fishing from my boat for cod and yellow belly and would like advice on a good rod/reel combo that will handle bigger fish and won't break the bank. Cheers. Space Ace.
