  1. Cheers for the insight, I hear people going on and on about Kingys but stumped if I can get them. I only ever seen them at box chasing my lure but they were very shy.... how big are the squid and where abouts do you get them?
  2. Well done, can I ask if you were fishing the wreck? Or the flats? was there much structure on the bottom? How deep were they and what fishing rigs were you running? Patanosta ?
  3. So picked up a V1 power drive reasonably cheap a couple of months back that runs really well. How ever I discovered the foot pedal started to fail in turning left and right. I realised it was the PCB switches that were in my opinion not replaceable. After a bit of research I went into Jaycar and grabbed some components and wired up a control unit I can Velcro to my console. I actually prefer this then the foot pedal. until I can put some pennys away to do the ipilot upgrade it will do for the interim. i intend on in future upgrading to a V2 control board so I can run ipilot. my control unit was very basic to build and I was fortunate enough to find a schematic on another forum. the components I used were... Shroud, DPDT mom switch (similar to an electric window switch), SPST switch, pot dial and a 1k log pot. The control unit circuit only completes the circuit on the main board and was very simple to connect up. below are some images, cosmetically it's not complete but it works. Still need to tidy the loom and cover the exposed contacts.
  4. Still waiting for my turn ?
  5. Would agree, should of went to the fads when we had that calm Sunday. MRS works Sunday's lol
  6. Yeh cheers guys, I spoke to the dealership today and I am taking it in tomorrow. He ensured it would be a warranty inspection and have email back up for references. hopefully nothing to serious but once I find out the error I will inform you all. i am still open to other opinions though.
  7. Press the trim button down... i ensured red nothing bumped the control remote and local switches.
  8. I have a 2016 40hp 4 stroke Merc. I went to go reverse it in the garage yesterday and it started to tilt up automatically. I managed to over Ride but could this be a warranty fix?

  10. Last 4 weekends in a row I have had weekend release! I have had the chances to Fish the Hawkesbury/broken bay and Brissy waters. over Easter started off ok picking up a few flattys near wondy then a nice soapy under the bridge. Working out side I have had the fun of chasing slimys on the surface, Jewies out a west Reef and plenty of pinkies around. Getting smashed on tailor throwing slugs at the white wash. Landed about 5 at 45cm+ on light gear and dropped about 7. Few small Kingys following lures out there to. brissy waters producing good Flathead at the ettalong bars and in the broad water after paddys. Plenty of whiting and pinkies getting around. Not sure where to next weekend but plenty of fish about. All mine were released.
  11. I am glad you enjoyed your self in Noumea, although expensive its a lot more classier then a certainl similar island all the turkeys flock off too in our North West. Vanuatu is really nice too and the fishing and snorkelling there is amazing. I went on a free dive around Canard island in Noumea and it was amazing, I remember seeing so many different species of fish although the hole time I was concerned about those cone snail thingys. Paranoid as anything lol. Sad to here that you got bad weather there
  12. Catch a bonny, take the fillets you want to eat off (they are really good eating), use rest for bait and drift with the carcas hanging over the side using patanosta. Kingys will buzz you fairly quick
  13. Older post I know but abercrombie river has them.
  14. If you ever come accross Mcgrath lures get some of them, they are another hand made lure that has been catching trout, bass, reddies and cod for years and years.
  15. Pretty much same way I cook frozen fish from coles/woolies deli. Yours would taste better though being fresh
  16. You mean Darwin NT, the stupid dont last long up there But natural selection does play in effect to. Remember the Pokemon Go phase the world had unfortunately dealt with. People walking on to roads getting hit , playing it whilst behind the wheel.........people getting in to vans and disappearing.............Yeh the world host some pretty stupid people. But unfortunately no-one wants to take responsiblity for their own actions. So they need laws to prevent these actions from ever happening. The law breakers do so because they think the law does not suit their needs, complain about democracy and want to live in an anarchy but when they injure them selves it seems to be everybody elses problem. These are the people who need to take a visit to countrys in anarchy....Like somalia.
  17. Had similar problem, eventually mind just broke. Pulled it off, side of the road some boat scabs picked it up.....Anyway long story short sold the boat and most who enquired about the boat made the accusation I was hiding the canopy and was not going to sell it. They then tried to con me down in price beacsue there was no canopy LOL
  18. Better then coming home with nothing
  19. Yesterday afternoon I was keen for a fish. I decided to take a trip up to my honey hole. i arrived about 6.30 pm, I then set up and made my way to the spot. After a few cast on the poppers watching the bass try eat it I changed over to a stump jumper. Caught 2 nice bass one 23cm and one 32cm i then changed over to a popper and tried my next spot and caught another 3 on poppers all under 25cm as night came out fast I headed home. all bass were released to fight another day. great arvo out and looking forward to more bass fishing over the summer.
  20. Ok this is a report that should of been posted a long time ago how ever it never even crossed my mind. This is not an advertisement but a pure /report recommendation. Anyone travelling abroad looking to go on a fishing charter, it is a must! I visited the states last year for a 2 week vacation and many learning curves for me. We however managed to score pretty much a private (only My mate and I) fishing tour at, well IMO a very cheap cost. Lake Mead is a large barron lake in Nevada fed by the Colorado river. The most famous Hoover Dam makes the lake possible. The lake is stocked with Stripe Bass and Largemouth, as well as carp. They are also a pest over there. A 6am start after a huge dump of snow in the ranges it was a very cold morning. We met our guide at the extremely long boat ramp and he launched his centre console. Now americans are big with everything. It is true. This was a very well kept large centre console fitted out with everything. We were shown how to use a cast net the american way, caught our live bait. After catching some good shads we were off. We rigged up lines drop and the skipper got the first hit straight away. My self and my buddy were soon to be on. Our skipper was a mentor and friend of another guide operating nearby whom his clients were a group of wealthy asian businessmen. Unfortinetly with their guide they didnt get a good haul so our skip promised them fish. In total we hauled around 60 stripers all over 45 cm. We were too busy hauling to measure. Best 200 I have ever spent, our skipper also had a guarintee 'no fish, no pay' Anyway if you end up abroad in vegas and want to go fishing I give this guy 5 stars!
