  1. That's me! No worries mate. Wish me luck. I wish I could hang around till Wednesday and tag along but alas i have to head back to sydney tomorrow night. As for the skylight, sounds like they should be ok without you. Hope you find a few good fish this time.
  2. Hey Burleyguts, we met at the soldiers point ramp last year. If you are keen to try again tomorrow I would love to tag along. We drove up from sydney yesterday, the boat is fuelled up and i,m just waiting for this wind to die down to get amongst it.
  3. Next time keep the bait the squid is eating in the water while you tie a jig on another rod. Then do the quick swap.
  4. Great catch! These hooks sound great, any chance you could share your supplier? I would very much like to give them a go.

  7. On sundown just after the high tide. They were anchored on the south east corner, channel side between the green markers, hope this helps you land a few. They were using fresh squid(not live). Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  8. I saw a 10kg king caught at molineaux point yesterday, they lost another 8 monsters. None for me though. :-( Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  9. Thanks for the tips mate. Very much appreciated, however I dont think we will make it for sunrise unfortunately. If there isnt any action thereI guess we will have a look around for another perspective spot. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  10. Hey Guys, I am heading out tomorrow with a buddy to have a crack at bagging a few kings. Haven't chased them from my recently aquired boat as yet. Was tossing up between the harbour and botany bay but I have decided to try the bay and hit molineaux point for the first time. I have only had 1 really good kingfish session from a hired tinny last year in Pittwater after many years of trying. (Pics below) We will TRY and catch come squid early morning but if that fails I plan to invest on some fresh local squid or cuttlefish from the markets and try for some yakkas when we head out. Water temp is over 20 deg but I haven't heard any reports this season? Wish me luck and if any of you champs have any botany bay tidbits to help me along the way I would be nothing but grateful. Will report back tomorrow arvo/night. Tight lines Raiders, Chris http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161011/5c34ff604dd65d5daaf554bc3722534c.jpg Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  11. Nice catch and good to see things turning on up there! Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  12. Firstly let me say that I appreciate your honesty and advice. And secondly, now that I think about it you're absolutely right. No one in their right mind would do that, probably inlcuding myself. That said there are PMs. Hehe I will get my maps out and do a little ground work as suggested. I feel a bit silly asking now. Solution seems obvious now that I think about it. And lets hope for all our sake the fishing picks up over the next couple of days. I am heading out monday so fingers crossed the stars will align. Thanks again. Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  13. Hi Raiders, With the recent arrival of Kings in our beatiful waterways I have been eager to get after them. However it has been so windy and I am relatively new to boating so my usual spots are a bit touch and go for me. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of spots I could access without heading out into too open stretches of water. A squid/bait spot near by or on the way would be a bonus. Botany , hawksbury, harbour all all options for me. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Tight lines. Chris Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  14. https://goo.gl/maps/SzaUneNAd5y Dont know if you can access on foot, I have always gone by boat or yak but they are there, well I havent been in a few years but I would imagine they are still there. And yes you will need a pump. Good luck. :-) Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
  15. Hi Raiders, I have recently aquired my first boat. 4.3m fibreglass runabout with a yamaha 70h injected hanging off the back. I have taken it out maybe 10 times over the last couple of months and my confidence and ability/understanding of how to drive it is improving naturally. (Broken bay on 2m swell and 17 knot winds was a bit scary for me but not enough to make me turn back) However I would love it if a fellow raider with more boating experience might be interested in coming for a fish with me and helping me know more about the best way to handle my boat in different conditions and basically help me to understand my capabilities and limitations with my new boat. I am based in sydney and usually fish the hawksbury as I know the waterway pretty well, however I am considering a day on the harbour or botany bay, especially seeing as they are both closer to me! Its not the best boat for fishing but its much better than no boat for fishing. Any help or advice appreciated! Thanks Raiders, Tight Lines Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
