Nice work, that spit is fishing done right! Is rod a Jarvis Walker Bullseye?

Bait recently, though I want to try with just SPs for my next outing.... I'll aim for lighter lb for this next spool I'm ordering 15lb you reckon or lighter?

apart from the nonsensical number of dog owners at the park, its a really nice place. Thanks scratchie I did a bit of reading / asking around about braid colours; from what I'm told, Red and pink is the most low viz. Is this true or should it not really matter if I'm using a clear leader? Cheers Tim

So I decided to put away the $10 toy rod and Reel (It's done me so well I plan on doing a youtube series with only toy fishing reels around Sydney), and re-rig my Shakespeare Ugly Stik Balance with 20lb kingcast braid to swivel and then Mono leader. I don't think I'm gonna go back to full mono anytime soon - apart from the whizzing sound of the braid in a fight, the line is amazing

Hey can you tell me what Rod / Reel that is?

The missus wanted to go to the park for the afternoon so I stashed a pen reel into her backpack before we took off down to bicentennial park, with small long shanks and fresh prawn. Lots of small ones (bream, whiting) before I got a decent pull - kept the drag on loose so the rod didn't snap (it's surprisingly sturdy). There was a fair bit of back and forth before I pulled him up Good times for a 10 buck rod!

That's what I thought too - There's an original tube of grease in the box too but I'll get some fresh stuff.

Thanks muchly for the info, It's been a great help. Looks like I've got a bit of learning to do, but I really want this as a workhorse reel, and my mate would've appreciated it. thanks again!
