I fish up closer to lithgow so not sure on southern streams

The best tip is to stick to smaller plastics to match the local prawn run every time i try larger plastics i get nothing drop back smaller than 6cm and catch fish natural browns like pumpinseed or motoroil are good starters

Im amazed at how healthy and how well the stocks have held up in two streams i fish after major flood events the fish have been great with bows up to 50cm -
Invest in some hard sole wetsuit booties for wading

Biggest problem is a small problem unless the fish has the hook n bait down in its throat it wont catch in the mouth i tried them on snapper and they are useless in my opinion they are great on tuna marlin n big kings but not so good on smaller species with hard mouths as they bounce out instead of catching

Try these jackson 1.7 inch crays on a 1/40th head 1/0 hook drift them thru fast flows where you cant fish divers

Sourced some more of the hawk lures neil they are a standout lure a great arvo fishing 3hrs drivin each way but totally worth it hope i catch stumpy again freaked me out when i grabbed him to remove the lure

All released in good health i usually only keep them if damaged badly the deformed fish was very healthy and deep thru the body but only had bout half of its rear end fought well an swam off for my next trip

I did a late minute flying run to the bush yday hit my fave trout stream an wasnt dissapointed between 1pm and 5pm i landed an released over 20 trout and 2 redfin i got one at 50cm and i caught a deformed fish as well a great arvo and my hawk lure smashed em

Same thing with nth side of reef sound for fish 10 14 mtrs anchor up current fish floaters back

Anchor where the cross is and berley and float baits back to saddle in reef also front nth east corner depends on current can also sit right on top of saddle in reef and fish down backside of reef

Some jig heads need to have the point bent down and in so the gape is not so open gives better hooksets

I fish the shoals north of crowdy or mermaid reef i mainly fish shallow berley n bait there are lots of deeper reefs to drift expect pearlies ntuskies besides reds in deeper water kingys will be on the cards too
