hello fishraiders i just took my kayak down to my local river. i had a great little session. i was wading a sand flat while the tide was coming in using a berkley 3 inch drop shot in the pearl blue colour. i caught three flathead and a MULLET. it was pretty fun. two of the flathead were of good size, one was fifty centimetres and one was 55 centimetres, both faught well and were released( as were the other fish) here are some photos. the creek i was fishing is called couchin creek at beerwah sunshine coast queensland. thanks for reading

hey there well when i was working my popper i couldn't get any bream to hit it while using pauses and little bloops. so i tried some hard rod stabs that really made the lure push some water and the bream just went crazy over it. also try a long leader and really long casts. and you dont even need small lures, my mates and i catch bream on zara puppies and there a big walk the dog style lure. hope i helped happy fishing

hey yes always use a leader,but as light as possible. even bream can bite u off if they swallow ur lure deep enough, basically never happens though. i always think its good to have some stretch in ur line as sometimes i get confused wich way my drag goes and i tighten it instead of loosen and that stretch could just save the fish ur trying to land. cya

hey mate those look like pretty sweet bream poppers and they seem pretty cheap. have u tried them yet. i really like the river 2 sea bubble pop 45 and surecatch bream popper, there cheap but there great. love to no were u got them cya

hey there definately give those sandworms a go for bream. you can cut them in half but i dont. they are a great bream lure and i have pulled some thumper bream on then sight casting to bream under jetties.they also work cut down for whiting. try using a small jighead with a really small hook for whiting cya

hello fellow anglers on a recent family trip to the tweed river i took my one man kayak and my light spin stick(stradic 1000, 4lb fireline and Tcurve 2-5 kilo) and was soon battling the current and waves at the mouth of the river to get to a great little backwater packing with lure munching bream, flatties and whiting. succes was slow as it was the first time i had fished this part but as i was trolling up the strecth with a small rebel in tow i hooked and landed a very nice bream( which was released because i mainly catch and release) i then stopped in a small bay and caught a little flattie on the rebel. i then opted for a small popper (river 2 sea bubble pop 45) i was working this along the banks but could only produce follows so i tried working the little popper a little more like a trevally lure and sure enough every bream in the vacinity was racing to tackle my little popper. i caught incredible amount of bream on surface but also lost quiet a few.i even found a bream that was willing to hit my popper at least 7 times. i lost count after a while, so i recommend this great little lure for anyone wanting to give bream poppering a go cya

hey mate sx40's are defintely a good bream lure, i find berkley bass are also a good bream and flattie producer. if ur not getting any hits on eithor slow it down or speed it up. just try and change it around. also use lighter lines, jigheads, rods and reals. it really is necessary if u want to catch good numbers of fish. try around canals if u have any near u, casting to jetties and under boats, mangroves are a good target. try everything and u should start getting some good fish. have fun fishing

hey macca definately give those jackalls a try. me and my mates use them around the local dams and we pull up some thumping bass. spinnerbaits are dynamite aswell, favourites are smak pro select in the bony bream colour and guppy colour 3/8 oz. poppers are more of a shallow water target as sometimes the fish sit right on the bottom in the deeper water so try walk the dog styles like the zara puppies around the weed edges. hope i helped cya
