G’day guys. Looking for a compact fly set up... Something I can put easily in a back pack for a hike in option, or on the motorbike. I like to travel to the lesser popular locations on the bike and I am interested in potentially running a small fly rig with my hunting set up to vary my days in the bush. Targeting trout in the streams mainly. Im not a fly fisho yet so if a budget option is available I am happy with that! Cheers!

Ahh - I read that the tassies are the go there so I didn't bring anything else...... Will my salt water lures work on fresh water? Im sorry if I am coming across as a bit of a retard I just genuinely have no idea and there is no local tackle shop that I am aware of in the area to go and ask like I would usually do... Any suggestions for plastics for trout?

Went out to Thompsons Creek Dam this morning nice and early, just after sunrise we were fishing. Worked the left side of the damm. Could see plenty of rainbows, all of them relatively close.... Was using Tassy devils, pinks and gold/brown. Not a single strike... Tried slow retrieve. tried fast retrieve. Tried giving them a flick like you would a soft plastic. Using the 13.5g lures as the winds wouldn't let me toss the little 7's. What am a I doing wrong? I'm coming from fishing salt water species and there is no way what I was seeing and doing wouldn't have landed me fish.... Help please

Is fishing the before and post sunset a MUST or can you fish during other parts of the day?

G'day all. Recently moved up the Blue Mountains and will be having a crack at fishing the dams and lakes in the area for a little trout.. Having never fished freshwater before, what are the tactics I should be using? Deep or shallow water, casting into structure, are rocks good to fish around? Will only be using lures, wife won't let me have baits around the house after I forgot about 2 Prichards in a bait bucket for a month.... Any advice would be grand. Cheers!

Hi lads, new guy here. Just after some advice on a rig to use when I head over to Exmouth WA. Ill be flying over with work so obviously something that can pack down nice and small and into my luggage, but thats also suitable for land based use. Not to sure what to target over their, but whatever is suggested ill probably rock. Hopefully something under say $200? $250 max. Thanks in advance, Patty
