  1. Good stuff Jon congrats to the girls. any chance of seeing the images? cheers
  2. What winch did you buy Zoran? im just about to go down the same path. i was steering towards a G3. cheers marty
  3. Yeah JD that's what I used when I built rods. lot faster than hand turning a rod. Plus 2 hands to guide the cotton n slip the tie off loops in and hold guides on etc. you can drill a hole in the center of a rod but cap and fix it to the wiper motor. that way you just slip the rod into the cap,Set up your rollers and away you go. the wiper motor needs to be fixed into a frame or on a flat board facing sideways. rig up a foot switch (old Holden EH-HT) headlight high/low beam switch) as on/off switch so your hands are free at all times The wiper motors are usually 2 speed so you can rig a switch to go from low to higher speed. . probebly even use a computer 12v power source to run it. but I like a gel 12v battery (no acid or 240v to hurt anything).
  4. Area could use a few council warning signs maybe!
  5. Id use epoxy resin, heat up the job in the sun first. do your glassing on a nice warm day. n make sure you clean surfaces with acetone. and rough up the surfaces to be glassed as much as possible Zoran. give the guys I sent you in a private message a ring they will give you all the info you need. im a rough old fiberglasser from the 1980,s ? cheers marty
  6. Try a car wiper motor, 12v and use a car battery. less chance of getting electrocuted as well.
  7. Luckyfil alright! good to hear you are ok. id buy a lottery ticket mate,?
  8. I like fiberglass half cabs. you can comfortably sleep overnight on them. Without freezing in winter. also get out of the sun in summer.
  9. Alloy boats are a lot colder in winter it's like sitting in a fridge. where fiberglass aren't as cold. also alloy boats bouncing along a sea with s bit of chop can knock you around a bit. where fiberglass gives a bit more comfortable ride. Depending on size Its basically half a dozen of one and six of the other really.
  10. Wow!? Would that be covered by insurance or vehicle warrantee? give me my good old 1991 80 series Sahara any day!
  11. You could always build your own rods. ive been doing it for 30 years. although I don't like doing it anymore. ?
  12. Plus the cleaning tables at boatramps are covered in bacterior n germs. same here drop whole into a slurry of ice n seawater, only thing I do is bleed ones that need it. like Taylor n tuna etc. plus the flesh firms up nice n makes cleaning easier, or fillet catch and save all frames n guts etc for next trip burley. waste nothing.
  13. Make sure you really give it a good Gurney clean afterwards as paint stripper residue left in creases and corners will fry up the new paint as its being sprayed.
  14. Also a heat gun and scraper might work if its 2 pac. And finish off with sanding
  15. I buy my blasting medium from Burrwell at Revesby. i run a 4 cylinder diesel screw pump compressor. N 100 ltr hopper. Blast helmet n Breathing apparatus with filters. those small blasters work but will take you a fair amount of time. depending on how well the old paint adhered. You will brobably need at least 100 psi constant for them to work well. i bought my setup to blast my own project cars etc, but I hate using it because it's messy, dusty, a drama to setup etc etc. i wouldn't wish it on anyone, lol,? Id just ring a local blaster if I were you. and it would save you the hassle and mess, etc cheers
  16. Go a digital numbers readout gauge
  17. Be a bit on the cold side down there at the moment. id think the fish have gone into hybernation mode hey.
  18. Sorry to hear your trip was canseled better to be safe than sorry though. Where,s MIA Neil? is it out west somewhere? like Bathurst
  19. Yeah, might just be it was gut hooked not long ago, n released roughly. but you can't be too carefull just in case.
  20. Good stuff. I wouldn't eat that big bream. it looks diseased or near death. It lacks the healthy brightness of the others.
  21. Lol, I should have got a few of them for my girlfriends birthday yesterday instead of the $100 lobbie.
