  1. Cheers for the tips, we just had some bad luck on the day I think, we moved around a bit but focused on the mouth of the bay from point perp to the island. Still had a good day though, no such thing as a bad days fishing ?
  2. If you come as far as Batemans or jervis bay then pm me. I have a 5m game fishing boat ?
  3. Avoca. But it still produces well for pelagics despite being crowded. Tip; get your spot well before sunrise and be prepared to shoo people away who get too close
  4. Just a quick one; plenty of good calamari, we bagged out by the end of the day. Less slimy mackerel around at the moment but a few good patches of yakkas showing up. The live squid kept getting bitten in half and the 6/0 circles didn't find their mark. Guessing we had some smaller snapper doing the chewing on the squid since a cod would have probably been hooked given their huge gobs. We didn't find any kings and the other boaties we spoke to were in the same boat so to speak with no one managing to locate them. So did a few "drifts of shame" on our way back to the boat ramp and finished bagging out on squid ?
  5. Hey everyone, any reports on kings inside the bay at all? I'm heading there with the mrs next weekend and want to get her onto some kings. looking to fill the livebait tank with some squid and try our luck anyone who will be in the area, come say hi
  6. I'll pm you, livies are good off the beach for jewies too. The calmer the sea, the more effective they are over dead bait as the jewies can feel the vibrations they make better if the sea is calmer. For pelagics, I'd recommend running the live bait under a float and vary the depth depending on if they are feeding deeper or closer to the surface. I use the floats with rattles and reflective sides with a lot of success on the kings. The wharves in the harbour are good places to drift a livebait from too if you don't like rock fishing
  7. Avoca rocks south side of the beach
  8. If you are willing to travel as far as jervis bay or Batemans, pm me
  9. Cool. Thanks for the info. Hoping to do a a few days there over December and bring back some sashimi and sore shoulders.
  10. Bluefish point on the ocean side of the manly peninsula is a great spot for kings and some other rock species as well as the rocks at the south end of whale beach. Another good spot is at the tip of barrenjoey peninsula below the lighthouse. I recommend a spot in the harbour near camp cove (the rocks at the south end) they hold good numbers of luderick between the rocks and sow and pigs reef. I've caught frigate mackerel, salmon, bonito, and small kingfish there when spinning too.
  11. Thanks mate, looking to float fresh and live baits down for kings so hopefully staying off the bottom, but that will be up to the saltiga if it can hold its ground on a good king haha. From memory there are good schools of slimeys and squid in Eden harbour and I can fill the tank up before heading out thanks
  12. Hi all looking to organise a trip away to green cape with the boat over summer. Anyone who has some local knowledge and may be keen to join me, or anyone with some tips would be welcome. Thanks in advance
