Dear fraiders, As most of you I am really passionate about fishing and since I moved to pittwater area(few months ago) I have been fishing almost every day. After getting most of the common species now I want to go a step further and try to get the well known Jew fish. I know that this will take time and lots of patience but I am willing to do it. I have read lots of info here in the forum and I am ready to start I have the proper gear, rigs and bait (freshly caught squid and tailor). I will start today so if you have some extra recommendations about places to try, etc please send me a PM ( I will really appreciate it). I just put the photo to show the fish because it is very similar to pike but for some reason in the AFN guide they showed it as a snook

Good morning all, Couple of days ago I went to Pittwater to try to get Tailors but I wasn't lucky at all. in 2 couple of hours fishing (using a float rig + mullet as bait) I managed to get a 50cm snook fish (very similar to pike but different fins). This fish is not good for eating but will try it as bait next time. Best, R

Thank you very much eastwood1980! Brew also suggested that! and yesterday I tried a float rig and I got a snook (50cm). Not yet lucky with tailor but will keep trying Best, R

Thanks again Brew! I went to shark point today and spent lots of time there...finally I got a tailor but only one :-/ apart from that I got tons of bream but released them all. Tomo will try Flint & Steel point - hopefully will have more luck best, R P.S. Thanks mii11x - don't worry I know about legal size

Hi guys, during the last days I am struggling to get yakkas and tailor in pittwater. I have been trying from many of the wharves with no luck. All I get is lots of bream, leather jacket or whiting. If you can give me some suggestions will be highly appreciated. Best, R
