  1. Surprised a ryobi tools lasted 6 years. It’s had a very good life
  2. could search for reports to like "stockton beach" or beach jewfish and have a read on previous reports
  3. nice bag as always mate, good job!
  4. ive stuck my head out on the protected side of jibbon and do pretty good on calis around there but yet to venture on the northen headlands yet
  5. well done & a good effort for being out there for 10 hours!
  6. If you didn’t take all the fish this wouldn’t be a issue. Sharings caring. Anyway, The squid are generally all bait size with a mix of arrows and calis. Get the odd decent Cali which I do sometimes eat. I havnt grown big enough balls yet to take the kayak along oceanic reefs yet for the bigger calls
  7. seeing i havnt posted a report as of late, i thought i post the pretty fishless day today was. after spending a day re wiring & giving the kayak abit of maintenance i went out this morning into the hacking around yowies haunts in lilli pilli at 5.30am and caught basically nothing. Clearly yowies taken them all and eaten them. theres the usual baby snapper and i caught what looked like a cooked mud crab but was still alive. Absolutely no bait around & almost lifeless. great weather though. not too hot or cold & no wind. Over the past few weeks theres been plenty of squid on the inshore areas like dolans, lilli pilli and yowie, averaging 7-9 squid a session at the moment so thats a positive
  8. hear its also good to remove the head and tail to limit ammonia. heard this from a few shark fishos in SA not sure if its true or not
  9. yeah, the identifying feature for them for me is the tail
  10. I’ve caught all my gummy sharks off bundeena wharf and jibbion beach. Biggest was 130cm in 2016 of the ferry wharf but I’ve pulled up quite a few around 70-90cm off jibbon beach on both land and boat.
  11. Quite the impressive list. good Memories on all boats for sure. I'm still looking around occasionally for my first boat. i do quite like the pongrass boats
  12. 46cm is quite the horse of a fish. well done on your catch!
  13. well, i did have them picked but i changed the tip before the manly game because injurys
  14. From the kayak I got a normal single white navigation light that’s on a 70cm tube that folds down when not In use. also got a few led button lights to light up the deck space when unhooking a fish and 2 4inch flood lights which help bring in squid and baitfish when gathering bait. The mullet point is indeed very correct, I’ve had them hit the side of the kayak and even inside of it. Quite startling when you’d be relaxing on the river. Dead quite, no jet skis just crickets then you hear a mighty splash meters away.
  15. should've accepted it after that crushing defeat
  16. Nice trip away with some different scenery from your usual haunts. Very nice area up there.
  17. footys almost back. exited to see the tigers come 17th (or at most, 15th) if you haven't joined the comp yet, you should
  18. Still cheaper than ‘Hawkesbury squid’
  19. nice bag. they look quite happy to be in your possession, again
  20. slowly but surely the clowns who run the country continue to lock down fishing, weather its knee jerk reactions like this, marine & sanctuary parks (& also hunting, national parks and basic enjoyment of the outdoors) Keep us all wrapped up in bubble wrap, confined to the city's ideally in a apartment being as "green" as possible while Politian's & celebs fly around in private jets. One small step at a time, how much longer will we allow these "laws" be passed. before you know it you'll not even be able to keep anything for a feed.
  21. Not a huge fan of tailor, plus you’re only allowed to have gas related fires on the beach for some odd reason. Not like anyone adheres to that rule as I see burnt wood all over the beach. I did give it a thought chucking it out as some strip bait. I have only been doing heaps of squidding in the kayak and on land on various jetty’s in the hacking the last month or so, gathering bait for trips like this Didn’t get a single drop of rain from that storm, so I just had a nice light show to look at and a nice offshore breeze
  22. futures looking very good for them!
