  1. Hey guys, Got my boat on the water and been out on PPB a couple of times and wanting to try my luck at Symonds Channel. I'm looking at my navtronics app and I see a lot of red dotted lines that say restricted zone, this is not where I want to fish I just want to know if I can go through or whether I have to go the whole way around? My plan was to go straight from Frankston boat ramp and go the north side of the Marine Farm to enter the channel? Would this be ok? Thanks!
  2. Thanks guys! I've arranged a full detail inside and out for next week so I will post some pics once it's all nice and clean and I have the new seats installed!
  3. Hey guys, Quick update, I had another mate who knows a lot about boats check it with a battery and fuel and fired up pretty damn quick. He was more than happy with it especially for $4,500 so I grabbed it and it's now in my driveway ready for a clean! Just wanted to thank everyone for your input and advice it was a huge help! Thanks!
  4. So I called the pre purchase guy and he had a look at it online and said it is ridiculously cheap. He said the motor alone is worth $3000-$4000 depending on condition. He said honestly it's not worth him going to have a look at it because even if I spend $1,500 on a service to get it up and running it's still a great buy. He said he wouldn't worry if he was me he would just buy it and save the couple of hundred dollars and get it.
  5. Will do! Really appreciate everyone's help and input!
  6. Ok great thanks for letting me know!
  7. Thanks guys! The work required is a service, all new safety equipment, new seats as they're torn and wrecked, new cushions for the cabin as they're ruined, new carpet and new batteries. The electrical doesn't concern me too much as my best mate is an electrician and can do it all for free for me but I still want it checked though to make sure there's nothing major. It's really just dirty as it's sat in the weather for over a year but I don't mind giving it a good clean.
  8. OK guys so I went to see this boat today with a mate: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/166564287319639 He said the hull and transform are solid the motor looks good but its been sitting in the weather for over a year so looks really filthy (which is fine I don't mind cleaning) but because of this we couldn't test anything. Will a pre purchase inspection take a battery to hook up and check the electrics as they looked a bit iffy. Otherwise it looked good just needs a really really good clean, service and safety gear. He has said he will take $4,9000.
  9. Hey guys I have the chance to buy this for $4,900! He said it needs 2k spent on it. I think it’s a good buy but would love your thoughts! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/166564287319639
  10. No, not just looking at fibreglass I'd definitely look at aluminium too. This might be a stupid question but is there a reason you'd lean towards the aluminium over the fully re done fibreglass for a similar price?
  11. Thanks guys! What about something like this? Looks to be in good condition! https://www.boatsales.com.au/boats-for-sale/gallery/SSE-AD-5304413/?currentSearchUrl=%2Fboats-for-sale%2Fresults%2F&index=0

  13. Thank I appreciate your honesty! Just so I can learn may I ask why the Haines was better than all the rest? I really appreciate your input thanks for taking the time to look at them!
  14.
