Hi everyone.
This is my first post back. My old log in was not working so got a new one.
Anyways.
I hit the hawkesbury in our special hairtail spot close to Jerusalem bay.
Got there around 11:30pm
I didn’t even get to the spot I wanted when I noticed the sounder going crazy.
Hairtail I though. Why not. Let’s try it.
First cast. Bang. Hairtail on. Not the biggest but it was a start.
Threw in some Berley.
Next cast. Bang. Another.
Then for the next 30 minutes I kept getting hits and missing. In total I landed 6 at this stage.
Next minute. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I was like. Wow!!! thought yes. Jewfish.
Nope was the biggest tailor I’d ever seen. Massive. So big I though it was a salmon at first
After that I had a huge take. I actually thought it snagged the bottom. Finally realised it was a hairtail. Managed to get it to the boat and in. Grabbed him and went to knock him on the head. Hit my hand with the gaff. Yep. Off the the hospital for stitches what ch ended my hot streak.
Anyways in total I think I got 8 hairtail and 1 tailor
I’ll post some photos when I get home.
