  1. Longtime overdue. Great to see the bigger girls are dry & chewy. A quick happy snap & released to produce more little ones is a great feeling, the photo & fish stocks can live on & last a lifetime
  2. Good to see the Swordies out again great photos & plastics, looks like they came out of a candy shop 👍
  3. Nice mixed bag Larkin should taste even sweeter knowing that they’ve come from a spot you sounded up, food for thought the snapper I got a while ago was caught on a fresh tailor strip which as soon as it hit bottom was getting bites while salted Mack strips was slower to get the bite
  4. Nice looking conditions & great video
  5. Great looking country & awesome session the two of you had 😎well worth the hike in
  6. Thanks ended up baking it whole, went down well, might try knocking the fillets off the next one & dusting in flour & pan frying Thanks Zoran, tossing metals & lures around for a good couple of hours gives the upper body a good workout to the point my arms sometimes feel like Popeye’s, but the only muscle getting any bigger is my gut 😆 Thanks Mike, lots of sessions & quite a few donuts to get those two
  7. Nice, great feed & report Fil I heard they’ve been there for a while, as the water starts to cool they’ll be heading further into the system
  8. Since the cold weather & the fishing reports have slowed down I thought I’d share a couple of highlights for me off the rocks My set up being 20lb braid with 20 or 30lb leader & a diawa hyper 8’6” 7 to 15kg rod Casting for what was looking like another two hour doughnut session I cast out the metal & flipped over the bail arm & let the lure sink when all of a sudden my rod buckled over & the reel screamed, after nearly a 15 minute fight & hoping for a long tail tuna up came a 5kg+ Mack tuna Almost a month later catching only one 40 odd cm tailor at first light & the conditions not looking good for a lure casting session I decided to use the tailor for bait fishing which I hadn’t done for a couple of years & target snapper. First cast & had a good hit but failed to hook up, managed soon after to get a just legal & undersized one which both went back, after a banjo shark & Sargent baker I managed to pick up my PB off the rocks at 53cm, pretty chuffed considering it was my first time targeting snapper off the stone’s
  9. Yup. The world is changing. I found this doco fascinating. cheers Zoran Great doco Zoran, it would be interesting to see the same research being done in Antarctica to see what anomalies if any there are between the two poles It makes me wonder wether cloud seeding & all the extra rockets punching through the stratosphere in recent times have had an influence on climate change
  10. Wow 2 meters of flatties 👍 all land based, sounds like the parramatta river has really fired up you mentioned elsewhere struggling to get a bream have you tried the cut out in the pylon at the meadow bank bridge & casting hard on across to the next concrete pylon on the run out or just as it turns at your feet
  11. Sounds like you had a good time getting away & sharing with your mates, great photos, report & 👍 on your PB’s
  12. Sounds like a good day out, maybe one of you should’ve popped into narrabeen bait & tackle for some worms
  13. Usually that design had a box gutter made up specifically with a high back, I’m wondering if at some stage it was replaced with something else
  14. Well done on both fronts, haven’t had a good cutlet or Jew fillet in some time there also appears to be more & larger than usual arrows about this year, I’ve been catching them off the rocks where I’ve only managed green eyes in the past, I’m assuming it might be to do with less salinity & an abundance of bait
  15. Hi @noelm what green hornet mentioned will help, putting extra down pipe or increasing down pipe size (4x3) &/or overflow could also alleviate problem, but in these torrential downpours + hail not many gutters cope well especially if there’s a bit of leaf or debri as well best solution is a custom box gutter that on high side runs under at least one tile as mentioned earlier then on facia side a tab edge over the top of facia for spillage, additional down pipe & overflow is always added insurance A common issue is undersized stormwater or partially blocked pipes & fall. 100mm pvc allows 3 times more volume of water to flow versus 90mm pipe. Hope this information helps, if you have any questions please PM me if you have any queries
  16. Congrats on an early season cobia, they must be getting around a bit, about two weeks ago one was caught in Brisbane waters Quite a few years back I caught one about that size west of Gladesville bridge & spoke to a guy who got a 19kg one at Clarke’s point the same year
  17. That’s living what a great day with your loved ones
  18. Great read & congrats on the PB, even better that you got to share it with your maternal
  19. Great report & photos sounds like you’ve opened up a whole new way of living the dream
  20. Rare but not unheard of, a mate & his friend last year picked up one each in lake Mac & a few years back now I’ve caught a few small ones just inside north head while trolling
  21. Good theory on working out what they preferred, another idea on the flatties not being on the chew is that they come on the bite later in the day & into late afternoon because there full from the night prawn run (dark) as mentioned to me by a local up my way
  22. Thanks for helping us stay sane over the past year, to Donna & all the moderaters as always fantastic effort on making this the best family fishing oriented site there is 👏👏👍👍 as well as all the good fishraider folk May you reels sing & your rods stay bent……keep the glass half full & make sure the shiny side stays up for the year ahead
  23. Sounds like you’re having a great time at Patonga with some real quality in your bags of fish Bob 👍 Had lunch there on Thursday, was that you guys in the quintrex runabout with the canopy. I was in the white barcrusher with a group onboard dodging the rain
  24. Wow Derek that reminds me of a good book Might have to put aside a bit of time with a good glass of wine or two to read what looks like a very concise & detailed breakdown of the finer art of casting 👍👍 Hopefully there’s a few tips in there for me to improve on, never to old to learn 😎
  25. Good read & photos Neil hopefully that’s the first of many more cod for the season for you 👍
