  1. The older I get the more I feel like needing fixing One of my favourites haven’t got a good one in a while, went 37cm Your not wrong there Bob, it was a rough ride out & with the wind & seas I was aiming for 50m but around 45m I saw a bit of foul on the map & thinking my drift was going to be N westerly I’d miss it but with the anchor out headed due north & ran straight over it without snagging & soon after that’s where the big ones we’re PS thanks for the heads up on depth 😎👍👍 It felt bloody good mate, even better with a full esky & doing 21+ knots on the way back in, she’s a street ornament for the spiders for way to long 😆 Have a great Chrissy with your loved one’s Jeff 🎅🏻🍺 all the best mate
  2. Wow what a great feed of whiting & that smile on his dial just makes it even better 😎
  3. Good effort on the bottom bashing 😎what a donkey of a pearly yum 😋, the bonnies still haven’t arrived on the C coast, should be here by now unusually late this year, any day now
  4. After not using the boat since February tried going out on Monday , reversed the boat off the trailer to the sound of an alarm & gauge saying see dealer “faulty injector” bugger me reload & drop boat at the mechanics & pick up the following day, all sorted🤞 Take two Wednesday, boat comes off the trailer & no horrible alarms 😄 Head outside & greeted to a white capped southerly sea. After reaching the 45m mark I decided to deploy theses anchor which kept the drift at about .6 to .8 knots heading north which made it fish able in lumpy conditions Did one long drift with a short run back over a spot that I’d picked up a good flattie on which returned two more sizeable onesended up with four over 60cm,one flounder & 9 fish in total after probably throwing back 10+ spikies & another 10 flatties ranging from 35 to low 40’s back. Happy to have some fresh fish for Christmas Merry Christmas to all the raiders, stay safe & enjoy the good times with family & friends 🎅🏻
  5. Agree totally, I’ve had the pleasure I’m of munchkin stature to I believe when I become a grandpa I’ve been informed I’m going to be called Papa Smurf 😂, haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Gordo though Love it, Big Bob the …“Kingy Wisperer” As said above,I’m vertically challenged happy & proud to be one, a munchkin that is 👍😄
  6. Good report & flattie, just be aware kingys sometimes lurk in that bay especially near the marina, early mornings before all the boat traffics the go
  7. Congrats on the PB, nice fish 👍
  8. Well done, good to see you got that monkey off your back
  9. Well done on another great session of quality fish 👍 The way you’ve been going, might need to get a bigger freezer mate 😄 Bakers know how to keep the candle burning, that’s what life’s all about making memories to reminisce about in the twilight years & having fun along the way 👍
  10. Great read & report of the day out on Barrycuda 😎 considering the tough conditions you guys did well & succeeded not only in getting yakkas but also the target species. Love the banter on this thread 😆 That 4th photo looks like @Pickles went out fishing with a couple of little munchkins🤣 Looks like you guys had a fun day out 👍
  11. Great to hear Frank 👍 & now you’re no longer land locked, I can’t wait to hear about the maiden voyage & what comes on board
  12. Good read & report N.N 👍 always worth getting out there even if you’ve gotta tease a bit out of the mortgage as they say you can’t catch any if your on the couch. Hopefully the next session rewards you with a screaming reel
  13. Must be because we’re friendly & smell just right 😆
  14. Well done on the bait gathering session & feed👍 Those XL mackerel are great filleted & on the bbq or smoked
  15. Great read & report, had a good laugh 😆 as I’ve had similar experiences as a young bloke & have learnt to make myself scarce from the over friendly know it all’s
  16. Try the search bar at the top of the page, plenty of info on Lake Macquarie, meanwhile Pullbah island, any of the points with deeper water or the drop off in the lake near the Swansea channel are good places to try
  17. Good effort they’re not an easy fish off the stones at the best of times especially on 20lb gear, I’ve lost count of the amount of lures that kingies have swam off with while targeting other species
  18. Sounds like a fun day out, considering it wasn’t a fishing trip plenty of fish were caught & a nice feed for the family, win win
  19. Great mixed bag of fish, nothing better than getting away with the family & everyone making the most of the break & seeing kids enjoying themselves exploring nature
  20. Great analogy & well explained
  21. Love the report Dave never done river trekking, beautiful scenery maybe one day. Most of your reports remind of a good comic when I was a kid, intriguing narrative with plenty of pictures to bring the story to life
  22. Tried google to no avail do they go by another name cheers mate
  23. Blue swimmers make for a difficult extraction but no more prawning after a muddy, mind you I did extract a muddy once off a pylon with a flattened prawn net (holding the tail against handle) & flipped it onto the wharf & before I could stop it walked off the other side “bugger”
