  1. --> QUOTE(Dave B @ Jul 8 2007, 11:51 AM) 181302[/snapback] Can anyone recommend a place to get an inspection in the Gosford area? The old one no longer does them and my car mechanic reckons he's supposed to do them without the boat-fat chance of that happening. TIA. Hi Dave, I presume you are after an inspection for your boat trailer? anything in particular you are looking for or just a check for rust and general wear and tear etc? I have dealt with in-sinc marine sports on many occasions, they are located on manns road in gosford, just before the caltex petrol station, on the right hand side heading towards narara from west gosford.
  2. Hey there mate, I have never fished wondabyne, but go past it every day on train on the way to work and there are MANY choice looking oyster racks that im sure would be holding some big fish. Wondabyne is the only railway station in Australia that cannot be reached by car. I have got off the train there a few times to do the hiking track nearby, but never fished. Let us know how you go if you do try fishing there.
  3. Sounds like a great day out on the water mate, I fished brisbane water from 5am sat to about 9am, out past the rip bridge, only catching small bream. The water was incredibly murky. I also got out in the afternoon at Gosford rail bridge, drifting hard bodied lured under the bridge with the current. Managed a tailor at about 30cm and also what I think is a Bass? Still, great day out on the water seeing as I hadn't been out for so long.
  4. Hey there mate, I fish brisbane waters every weekend, and whilst I am no expert, i believe for bream and flatties you should add a spool of 4lb fireline or other braid to your list, as well as an ecogear sx40 hard bodied lure or two. If you go to BCF at west Gosford they have kokoda hard body lures which look exactly the same as the ecogears in a specials bin for 6 bux each. Buy some owner trebles for them and they are as good as the ecogeras for less than half the price. I would also add another pack of jigheads to your list, maybe the new "all-terrain" style from nitro. This should get you pretty close to the $200 mark.
  5. Hey all, My name is Gareth, im 19 years old and have recently joined the fishraider forums to access the wide range of fishing information available, and to learn as much as I can about the fishing scene in my local area. (Brisbane Waters, Central Coast NSW). I have enjoyed fishing from an early age, but it was mostly on and off as it depended on when the old man was keen for a fish. My mate and i bought a 77 model fibreglass runabout for $1500 as a bit of a joke a year or so ago, and we both got our boat licences and fishing licences and got out on the water, having an awesome time along the way. The boat had a 1977 25hp evinrude, which despite its age was very reliable. I learnt heaps about boats and outboards from this first boat, which we sold not long ago due to it practically sinking in Glenbawn dam at the beginning of the year. We gave this boat an absolute caning, and have some awesome stories from it as well. The highlights would have to be losing the prop in a storm in brisbane waters, and breaking off the windscreen by running into a wharf. This boat got me hooked on the whole boating scene, and i was keen to get a better one when I had the chance. A few months ago I bought a Stessl Sportsman 415 Runabout, with a Honda 4 stroke and all the goodies. I now fish every weekend with a good mate of mine, and have recently been giving Sp's a go with much success. I look forward to meeting some other raiders at social events in the future. I have just read the posts about the entrance social, if only I knew that it was on I would have been there straight away! Thanks guys, keep up the good work, there is so much to be learnt from other people on this site.
