Hey guys fished at Avoca today and seen some really big bonito come off the rocks today pushing 4-5kg and I hooked a little one my self off a yakka, was there anyone else fishing Avoca today or platforms around central coast ? Apparently last week they hooked a 15kg long tail!

Mate I really appreciate your help and story’s! I have more question when you throw a live bonito or live slimy out do you just pin him in the back the same way as a yakka ? And do you use a float or ballon ? Thanks again 👍

Thanks for the information, I was at Avoca a few weeks ago and was catching a fair few slimies amongst the yakkas they were really big tho probably 25 to 30cm mark and put one out but I thought he might be abit big for a livie but I guess bigger the bait bigger the fish, but he died to quick a pilchard thrower went straight over me and reeled him in really quick and he died 😡 have you ever caught anything decent from Avoca or seen anything big come off there

If there is any other good spots you could recommend to me around the central coast that hold good live bad I’d really appreciate, I’m after the big palagics, would like to hook some good tuna and willing to put the time in

Have you dived in to Avoca? and what time of year where you in the water at Norah head ? And also did you dive in at the point at Norah head or around the shallower points? I have caught yakkas there but very minimal

Hey guys I fish a lot at Avoca and have been wanting to give Norah head rocks a good crack I have fish there a few times and have caught tailor, salmon, bonito, mactuna, BIG bream and have hooked something very big there but buried him self under the rocks so I’d say definitely a decent kingie. I’ve never live baited there though only spinning and pillies under a float I want to start live baiting there, I want to know what you guys have experienced off this ledge before and if it’s worth putting in the time to live bait off there with yakkas slimies and maybe even put out a live bonito!
