  1. Better weather today headed upstream again the misses 3rd cast hooked up to a 36 cm bass very fat got 4 more and several herring. Packed up at 12 pm headed to the club for photo weigh in. Home shower then to the presentation see how we go.
  2. We got about 12 fish too hard to upload that many photos heading out again tomorrow get wet and catch some more fish
  3. We signed on yesterday at 530pm at panthers league’s club then fished the weir 1000 casts 1 bass 24cm got absolutely soaked. Saturday still pelting Down hooked up the tinnie woke the missus and headed down to the ramp. My son and his mates been fishing since 530 we turned up at 9am they were returning 3 boats had a chat and set off. They got nothing. We dodged all sorts of debris heading up stream water was filthy, made the decision to hit the dam wall. Manoeuvred through the shallow rapids then to the basin yes clean water. Rained all day but got a few back at the ramp at 5pm
  4. Fishing the Nepean chocolate brown and flowing, the fishrest is on so will be battling the weather and water conditions, will still be a good time to be had. After 1000 casts Friday evening one 23 cm bass.
  5. One of the main reasons transom are repaired internally is there is no external cosmetic problems to deal with. Making it look original and trying to match gelcoat.
  6. What depth do you normally fish. The supplied transducer will control the useable depth range also side and down scan performance. Garmin probably more user friendly only my opinion.
  7. Pretty sure there fibreglass not aluminium they'll definitely have no idea.
  8. Absolute beasts no need for marlin when your able to catch such quality fish. Seems the fishing will only get better, hopefully it's still pumping in April.
  9. If you want to fish upstream tench reserve is your best option you can use the old boat ramp perfect for kayak launching. Devlins lane is the other side of the weir also Yarramundi still can be good fishing but this time of year the fish have migrated upstream. If you get in early you will miss all the ski boats and JetSki folk.

    Foggy gauges

Probably replacing the gauge might be your only option the internals will most likely be corroded thus effecting the accuracy of the gauge. Try drilling a hole but it will only be temporary
  11. The better Garmin sounders are typically above $1000 mark including transducer obviously the more you pay the better the combo will be. Personally a GPSMAP unit would be the better option but there are many others. Remember the transducer gives the results. The bigger the screen the better your experience will be,nothing worse than looking at a 4" screen while bouncing about. Once fitted correctly changing to a new setup will be very time consuming. Usually when you upgrade it will be to a larger more powerful unit and larger transducer therefore more holes due to larger brackets etc new wiring, so it's basically a full refit as well to get the transducer to read correctly again. Research is the key !
  12. Try not to skimp on your sounder choice as once you have fitted it it's there to stay. Save a little more and purchase a larger unit, you won't be disappointed. Try for a Garmin unit with side vu down vu with a decent transducer that way you will save on upgrading and only do it once. There are purpose built transducer pads available that you glue onto the transom to accommodate the transducer therefore no holes to drill into the hull. If your capable instillation is pretty straightforward.

    Outboard height

If there is nothing wrong withe the boat or engine just bite the bullet and modify the transom to suit the motor shaft length problem solved , boat will run like it should have from day 1. WTf was the dealer trying to scam with that set up, hope you go the boat for a good price. You will have an even higher transom to stop possible water intrusion, take the foil off and enjoy. If you get stuck with any modification PM me I have a fab shop.
  14. The reason rod the odd size is the dies used in manufacturing are imperial still. I've got some 125x75x6 mm about 3 metres also some 100x6 SHS probably a bit too heavy for your needs though.
  15. I'd be using 291 sikaflex, double sided tape may deteriorate with water and sun never mind a pounding boat.
  16. Great report solid feed there, nothing beats live bait.
  17. You will have to independently power the NMEA 2000 for it to work. That radio will not power the NMEA.
  18. Well done no dolliesa few tiny kings at the fads today live bait hard to come by outside
  19. No you'll need a boat it's a basin to the right heading up river at the connection mulgoa creek. Heard 30 plus caught today. Be quick the water will warm quickly and they will be gone.
  20. Great work if you have a boat head way upstream to the small spillway much bigger fish. Try using tassie devils, spinners and daiwa double clutch, seen 50 + cm fish caught
  21. Frank side scan/ down view are must have features for scanning structure. Traditional sonar is a cone therefore anything in that area will come up on the screen but could be 20 metres to the right or left of your position, side scan will show the structure relative to to your boat position making boat positioning on top of something much more accurate and quicker . The higher the kHz better for shallow water, lower better for deeper water, once you have used it you will appreciate the benefits.
