I think it went into shock and cause it was gaffed under the jaw I lifted its head up so it had no leverage. Was easier than expected. I've since lost 2 makos I tried to gaff another as it swam up taking burley, but missed the shot, the other was a big one on a poorly set up wire rig. I think there's a lot around

Did some thing new a few weeks ago Had a mako take half my king so I dangled the remaininder over the side of the boat and as it swam back to take another bite gaffed it. Gaff shot was perfect, right under the jaw We held it on the side of the boat and gave it a few brain spikes and knocks with the priest before boating it. Got lemons, make lemonade.

Hey all just bought a new winch and have moved from a fixed handle to removable I've had one before and mates have left in on and resulting in it being lost Sid some research and here's the solution Place a circular magnet in the handle hole A pack of magnets from bunnings were $9 and they have plenty of grunt That way if someone leaves it on ut won't fall. Plan is still to remove 18mm magnet fits the ark winch handle How that helps someone

Tusk fish Heads cma e back fro the tax man other than that they took the whole fish and hooked up and caused Alot of back pain We were fishing a red emperor spot with some other boats near us bringing up red emp heads Next time I'll be focussing on fishing shallower water ie outer reef
