  1. Legal limit is 30cm and that is too small imo to keep regardless of if you release them plenty will die there is no reason to target undersized fish

Thanks all and sorry for hijacking thread i tried on the water 2 weeks ago for no reply will try again next time if no answer will probably upgrade .with the lack of bluespots and the amount of whales in colder months im not going outside much anyway but do realise i have to sort out something ,is there anyway to test the aerial i dont know anyone i can borrow one from the unit and aerial are less then 2 years old

Least you got a feed i was out Saturday as well out to the 50 mtr mark for a few hours only catching small flathead ended up trying at 35mtrs on way back in and picked up 3 nice ones and a good bonnie they seem to be in closer than normal and definitely not so many. The early start for you was lucky as i got there just after 5 and carpark nearly full there was a rail shutdown at Brooklyn so workers use a lotof spaces

I got my yalta craft 1600 nearly 27 years ago have rebuilt transom and floor myself on my 4th trailer the one its on now is the only new one and have replaced both original 40tohatsu with 1 new and 1 used which i had to have rebuilt last year boat probably has cost about $25000 all up including electrical updates

  10. Hi bait dropper will try calling marine rescue next time I’m out have really only asked for a radio check since installing a new aerial the maritime guy said to ring marine rescue from home and try radio then but I think I would be to far away from base.thanks for your help
  11. Yeah tried on water and asked I think it was the maritime guy for a radio check he said to try marine rescue so they probably dont cover 27m anymore should have just got the other one but didn’t want to muck around with getting a license
  12. Sorry cant help but im having the same problem with a 27 mhz model probably a year old and a new aerial fitted I didn’t realise hardly anyone uses them anymore so maybe thats the problem
  13. Yeah xd that wouldn’t suprise me i never knew if was a public track to get down there i cant say we caught a lot either
  14. I used to fish the ovens at whale beach over 30years ago had to go in between 2 houses and use a rope to get down also got hit by a large wave one morning before we even got a line wet and lost half our gear

  16. I was out Saturday tried from 35 mtrs to 60 mtrs for 1 keeper i let go the whole system is quiet I haven’t bothered taking a feed home last few trips but i did score 2 octopus which i also let go on Saturday i think Ive lost my mojo

Bit bored this morning so went for a drive to parsley bay ramp guy comes in a stabi puts it on trailer and goes up to prepare everything to leave i hear the motor start and think to myself please dont tell me he’s running it dry i turn around and its got its own water supply to flush the suzuki great idea i hadn’t heard of before
  20. I recently got checked 3 times in one day by maritime but have never been checked by fisheries , coming back to brooklyn ramp on New Year’s Day I watched a guy catch a 100mm bream and throw it into his esky pissed me off but what can you do fisheries aint sending anyone for that
  21. I only seem to get shovel nose and rays there in the last year but it is my go to spot for squid
  22. Yes they have woken upi caught 6or so at patonga on Saturday but only 2 legal so let all go . Pittwater is still dead if you’re going to skin them its easier to leave scales on cheers
