Hi Guys, Currently in the market for a new surf rod and ideally would like to spend less than $200 on it. I'm looking for 12ft rod in the 8-12kg range. I've narrowed my options down to the Penn allegiance II, Pen Ally, Ugly stick Bluewater, Ugly stick gold and Daiwa crossfire. I was wondering what would be the best option and if anyone has had any experience with these rods. Feel free to recommend any other rods. Thanks

Hey guys, I went down to little manly point on the 20/01 in the afternoon and fished the ledge facing spring cove. I was using a chrome lure in hope of catching something, I went down again the night after from 8-10pm and my lure wasn't even touched. I tried burleying with cat food and bread and it caused a bit of movement from smaller fish. Am I using the right lure, or is it better to use bait?

I love surf fishing how ever I'm still relatively new to it, I usually use beach worms, how ever I haven't caught anything larger than 35cm dart I plan on fishing manly beach and want to catch larger fish but I'm not too sure on what to use for bait and what species are out there, I've noticed that the lagoon is full of small mullet ~10cm, does anyone know how effective they are either live or filleted

Hey guys im soon moving to manly just wondering if the area is any good for fishing.I was wondering what species are in the area and what baits to use. at the moment I have a 12ft surf rod (planing on getting a heavier one) and lighter 6.6ft rod.
