  1. My 1st bit of advice would be to check the free boating maps available to everyone- https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/using-waterways-boating-and-transport-information/navigation-and-communication/boating-maps
  2. Shimano Jewel 721, 1-4kg would be my pick
  3. Nice fish bro 😀 You might want to actually straighten out the tail to get the true measure thought 😉
  4. If the NPWS had their way all national parks would be closed gated all together, they just want the land totally "preserved" which mean no humans at all. If the greens get more power you can expect this to become a reality! https://greens.org.au/nsw/policies/national-parks-and-protected-areas https://greens.org.au/nsw/news/media-release/greens-call-nsw-government-move-faster-expanding-protected-area-network
  5. For that depth when bait fishing(which is rare) I would usually use a 2 hook paternoster I dont get any tangle issues. How long are you making your dropper loops?? Keep the droppers shortish & you shouldn't have any issues. Alternatively either a running sinker rig with lumo bead between sinker to swivel with a 1mtr fluro leader or running sinker straight to hook(no swivel) again with a lumo bead between sinker & hook. These 2 are the most basic general species rigs I can think of. Enjoy.
  6. For a lot of years paint contained lead & dont forget about Hardie & the asbestos fiasco, how many houses out there are full of it? People/companies never learn! Its no wonder so many people die from various cancers a year. The amount of chemicals that would be entering the food chain in many ways would be staggering, then there is the air we breath! You can understand why some people go the full organic lifestyle but even a lot of people who go a vegan diet would be blown away with the amount of chemicals/additives present in plant based food offerings, probably more than normal foods. It would be a fulltime job scanning every product when you go shopping but some do. Good to hear your wife is doing better, now it is know she can have an anaphylactic reaction it might be wise to have an EPIPEN on hand.
  7. I think there is an 80% chance they have no idea & the 20% is there just to say at least the BOM has some idea what they are talking about 🤔😛
  8. Personally Id look at the retail price of molded sinkers VS lead weight & then discount to whatever % your ok with but molded sinkers are worth much more! Its taken your time(or someone else) to process the materials into a ready to go fishable product. The bulk is a different story & maybe look at a local metal dealer or someone on this forum who actually who has their own moulds/smelter which is rare these days.
  9. Its also technically a restricted area by the port authority. So if Maritime catch you their its just how they feel on the day if they fine you or just move you on! I would not be trusting Deckee maps or even the DPI's own fishsmart app with local zoning! https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-07/9f-botany-bay-lower-georges-cooks.pdf
  10. The only answer is charge whatever the particular battery type(lead acid, Gel, AGM, lithium etc) that it is with the right charger that suits the charge profile of that battery. Then the charger will go through all its correct stages of charge like bulk charge, absorbent charge, float charge etc. All battery types are different & you cant just charge them with the one charger unless it has the different profiles to select as options!
  11. There are plenty of old posts here: https://www.fishraider.com.au/search/?q=broughton&quick=1
  12. Hi Zoran, Im not overly experienced in 12V but know just enough to get myself into trouble 😅. From my experience any power loss or poor performance comes down to many possibilities - bad cells, poor grounding, poor contacts, a short in connected equipment, incorrect charging, sulfation to name a few. Re reading the post (properly this time) & Fab's comment I would say its accurate with the amount draw in the figures. @frankS It is very important imo to have a good battery monitor to know what SOC you are at as billmack suggests with an AGM you only have 50% of useable power before you start to reduce you batteries lifespan if constantly drawn below that. How many volts is an AGM at 50% SOC? Well thats debatable, I have seen figures as low as 11.95V to 12.51V. I am going with my AGM's battery manufacturer that states 12.05V is 50% SOC. https://www.victronenergy.com/battery-monitors/bmv-700h#pd-nav-image The other thing I have learnt about AGM's or anything 12V for that matter is that whats on the label & what any manufacturer can state in their specs on AH capacity & charge/discharge rates etc is subjective & they usually over inflate the figures. Eg. One branded 140Ah AMG can weigh 35kg while another branded 140Ah AGM can weigh 45kg. How can the 35kg battery be a true 140Ah?? Its a similar thing for solar panel/blankets to.
  13. Napean river Penrith or Georges river.
  14. Optima blue top, they are a dual purpose AGM so can be used as a cranking battery & as a powerbank. They are more on the expensive side so If you cant afford 2 then maybe get a cheaper crank. AGM's are normally on the large size in comparison to cranking but the Optima's are good for having a lack of room. https://www.optimabatteries.com/en-us/bluetop-dual-purpose-deep-cycle-and-starting AGM's will still work with a VSR but have you ever tested how many volts is getting to the AUX, if the voltage isnt that of what a cars alternator would produce then you may need a DC-DC charger? But if the current system is working fine the the VSR will do the job.
