  2. Champion effort! Sounds like we are cut from the same cloth. I regularly tell my fans if I choose the location and method you're going to catch eff-all fish. Take me on a charter with a great skipper and I'll catch fish for dayz. Go figure?? 🤔

  11. Howdy Fishraiders Got up at 5:45 am this morning and humped it over to Putty Beach to chase some Tailor and Salmon. So good to get out for a fish after a week of terrible weather. The swell was still pretty high and the waves were 2ish metre still. The Northern end near the rocks looked a little calmer so I headed down that way. Other than it being a bit rough it was a beautiful morning. I was fishing my surf spin rig which is a Shimano Classix Surf Spin 10' 6" with a Sedona 5000. I was running 20 pound braid, 30 pound leader, running sinker and ganged hooks. Pilchards were the fish snack served! I'm pretty new to surf fishing so my ability to read the beach is still pretty novice. I eventually found a nice hole (once it got light enough to see) and settled in for a 4 hour fish. Caught four, got busted off once and dropped 2 within eyesight. I'm finding I have a disturbing habit of getting the fish visible then they pull a Houdini act. Todays catches were 2 Aussie Salmon, 1 Bream and a Dart. The bream was lunch...oven baked in lime, sweet chilli and ketjap manis wrapped in foil. It was great! Cheers Luke aka LucaPalooka
  12. Nice work Sea Cur. That cod looks like a keg with fins! Awesome work and glad to hear you are back on the water after what sounds to be a tough period. Keep punch'n slugger!
  13. Wise words R81. I'll give that a try. I'm a tech geek so I'm looking forward to cracking the code.
  14. There is no problem there PT. My wife is constantly mentioning my fishing expeditions are increasing in frequency so much so my 4 year old now thinks I'm the milkman????
  15. I'm 5 mins from the Ettalong, Umina Beach and Booker Bay and never need any excuse to go wet a line...just ask my wife
  16. What an absolute cracker! Nice work.
  17. Ok rookie question time. What do fellow Fishraider members think of services like https://www.fishingreminder.com for predicting good fishing dates and bite times? FishingReminder.com uses the Solunar Theory to predict bite times/hot fishing days. More info on this here... Based on FishingReminder.com 22/5 to 28/5 is going to be some good Fishing! My FishingReminder.com account is set to Ettalong Beach...aka my good. What do we all think? A good site or BS? Asking for a friend
  18. Wow that sounds epic. What an amazing day. My PB is a 40 cm Snapper 🤣 which could have been bait for your two big dogs..
  19. Nice work. Flathead and Snapper are my two favourite eating fish with whiting a close 3rd.
  20. Don't know what you're talking about 🤦‍♂️🤣 PS I washed it just after with fresh water from my drink bottle 👌
  21. Headed to Putty Beach at 5am this morning. Why is it whenever I plan an early morning session I wake up an hour before my alarm? 🤦‍♂️. After staring at my alarm for 15mins then said f&$k it and got up. My outfit was a surf spin with 20 pound braid and mono with a running sinker 30 pound leader and 3.0 suicide. I've been bitten off by big Tailor a few times recently so I went probably a bit larger than necessary. I quickly hooked up to a junior Tailor early and turned her into slab bates. Chucked in my line and was nailed quite quickly by a 64 cm Aussie Salmon. It was towing me up and down the beach and peeled off some line which was awesome. Dropped the fish as I pulled it up out of the surf. Bolted in and managed to scoop/throw it over my shoulder to save the day. Ah yeah! Caught another 50cm Salmon which fought as hard as the bigger brother. I was convinced it was a PB and was a little let down when I saw its actual size. It was a little foul hooked so guess that's what made it feel bigger. Caught some legal sized Bream as well to round off a fun morning at Putty Beach. Great fun overall.
