  1. top read on this miserable morning mate.
  2. not a bad part of the world to be in. I did similar on Sunday- although had no bait..... tried to get yakkas in Pittwater but spent more time waiting the young bloke fluff around on the boat . still, a good day on the water before the new rules came into place.
  3. for the sake of $280, which can be a lot in tough times..... I personally would change the impeller..... just for peace of mind.

    Swapping seats

interested to hear the replies to this as I want to do the same with my Haines hunter, a passenger side esky mount seat base would be ideal.
  5. I can access the ramp as its within 10km and in my LGA, but honestly, I don't need to go fishing, I don't want to be the idiot who gets onto strife one the water and puts first responders at risk when they have to deal with morons intentionally dong the wrong thing. ill wait till restrictions ease, then head out. in other news, I did start and run the boat lat week, so that was a plus.

    State of Origin

lol, the best nsw side ever, still couldn't get a clean sweep.... Tommy t went missing last night. nsw needs to win every series till 2028 to match the qld dominance.
  7. great, ill bring the boat, and we may as well get an early start out your way 😂
  8. great report as always. I could just imagine the look I would get if I got my mrs a rod and reel for her birthday with the offer of a fishing trip haha...
  9. most outboard manufacturers recommend 15mins for flushing, I doubt any one does that to be fair. I use salt away or desalt, so far so good.
  10. you're living the dream mate- great catch, I should really dust off the Haines and get out on the water.
  11. says they have to get going as soon as you pull up home and have to wash the bait and gear down.
  12. good stuff mate, nothing better than a feed of fresh flatties
  13. my 2c, we have bait, and things that mimic bait..... or bait, and artificial bait, I mean a hard body lure is mimicking a small fish etc just as a SP is.... I read somewhere the reason SP's were invented was they were supposed to be a biodegradable lure....a fisho in the states got sick of seeing so many hard body plastic lures underwater not breaking down......
  14. great day out by the sounds of it...... gees that boat looks unreal with the mere on the back
  15. there aren't many things better in life than fishing with a good mate- even better when you get yourself a decent feed.... well done sir.
  16. good to see they are out there in numbers..... its great when Bayview is empty, although its rare these days.
  17. yeah just a snapper sinker on a paternoster single hook rig.
  18. personally if fishing the wash id keep it running, like you said you want to be able to get out of trouble fast if you need to.
  19. good stuff mate, he'll be hooked for life now.
  20. decided that enough was enough and needed to get out for a fish, so called up a mate on Sunday and told him o get to my place for an early start Monday. went and started the boat, checked everything was all good, only to find that the oil level on the motor (115 optimax) was sitting at about 1/4 full....damn, do I risk it or not I decided to call my mate back and say lets start later as I needed to get oil first thing Monday just to be safe. eventually got to a 3 lettered shop, grabbed some oil, and we were on our way to the ramp. decided to take a look out through the heads to see if it was worthwhile, which it was, so we powered out to the 40m mark where I have had luck on the fatties before, first drop up comes a decent 55cm fish- ok todays looking good...... then we sat around for 15mins for nothing. we moved out to 50 m, first drop bang, another good 50cm model....then nothin for 15 mins. ok lets go to 60m....first drop, bang another one around the same size...then nothing. ok lets try moving around a bit....found a spot that looked fishy, first drop, bang another 50cm model. ok we have enough for a feed, lets troll some lures around, couldn't find any decent blue water, everything was green and murky, so we came in for the day, stopped off in Pittwater to clean the fish and have a bite to eat while we watched the jet skis makes fools of themselves and make life difficult for everyone around them. came back to the ramps for an uneventful retrieve and home to wash the boat. all in all a good day out with a mate, talking crap, and enjoying the water....and a feed for us both. till next time.
  21. its always been a bucket list item to tick off for me..... one day ill get up to the NT and smash a Barra.

im not going to get into an argument with you over it, because A- its not worth it, and B- im not going to change your view. if you think its ok to break the law because its only by a little bit, youre not part of the solution, but part of the problem. oh yes, lets compare what you're wanting to do willingly to a flathead hunting a bream for food, brilliant argument. ive noticed in a few of your replies you mention "certain nationalities" as if "other nationalities" don't break the rules. here's and idea, drop the stereotypes, and stop thinking you're above the law?

by doing something illegal, you're no better off than the ones consistently catching undersized fish and keeping them....
