  5. @motiondave @XD351 HI guys I ordered the Gulf Western 2 stroke oil from Autobarn and I received my delivery today but they sent me Valvoline Marine 2 stroke, anyone had any experience with this or do you think it would still be ok. I wanted to check before I called them up. Thanks, guys
  6. Thank you guys I will definitely be going through this step by step, I'll try and put some photos up of the spark plugs too. Thanks again
  7. Thank you for the advice. So that foam inside is it better to remove it as it's getting all over the inside of the motor?
  8. While I have the time in lockdown I took the tank out and emptied it and there was a lot of rubbish inside the tank and fuel was very dirty and some water in there, we cleaned it out and will put it back in and fresh fuel and try the gulf western 2 stroke oil, just waiting for it to be delivered. Just a question since my tank in an in-floor tank and has the fuel cap in the back, is it best to mix it in a Jerry can and then fill it up, I'm guessing that's the safest way to make sure the mix is always spot on? Another question, my outboard engine cowling inside it has a foam and it's all coming off and little pieces everywhere if I remove this will there be any problems with that or Is it just mainly for noise reduction? Thanks again guys for all your help.
  9. Thanks, I’m in the Georges river LGA so I have some time on my hands now. So I will be emptying the tank and start fresh new tank of fuel and 2 stroke oil and check the spark plugs see how that goes. Thanks again guys for your help
  10. Thank you all really appreciate your help, I will put fresh fuel and try the gulf oil and see how it goes and let you all know.
  11. Thanks mate really appreciate the advice, I used penrite marine 2 stroke. Like one of the other guys said maybe empty the tank and put some fresh fuel in it also. So is gulf western the better option for 2 stroke oil? thanks again
  12. Hi thanks for the reply, mine is not a VRO.
  13. Thank you mate I will try that
  14. I definitely used two stroke oil, it was running great last time we took it out.
  15. Hi Guys Need some help, due to somethings happening I haven't been able to start my boat in over 2 months, I started it today and all this dirty oil water came out and on the side look like old was coming out of the side see the below video. I took it out over 6months ago and washed it and flushed it. If anyone can help me out if this means somethings wrong or do I need to take it out and open it up. I'm new to boating and repairs this is something for my son and I to learn on and update later on, so any help would be great.
  16. Hi All just an update haven’t had much time to work on the motor. So I have done the carby rebuild and new fuel pump and it’s starting a lot better. im planning on taking it out for a test on Friday morning when I put it in gear and accelerated a bit didn’t sound very smooth sounded a lot better I will try and put a video up, new spark plugs, I’ve been running it and have 2 fuel filters not a lot of rubbish coming out of the tank. maybe i need to fix the idling, haven’t done it before if anyone can help me with that. 1st video 2nd video
  17. Just rang Moby and he said that design was on a lot of older carbys but they used to get stuck a lot so that’s why they put the wire. thanks again
  18. There’s no spring underneath and I rang hunts marine and the guy there said usually there’s a wire to connect the valve, he said he wouldn’t trust one if it didn’t have it, he said their kits all come with the wire for the value, I’ve ordered the kit through them already.
  19. Hi All, just going through the carbys and I removed the float from both carbs and the float value they do have the wire to bring the valve up if the value lifts or lowers see the photo and video I just put up , All of the videos I’ve watched have a wire there. 63425779147__40798B9F-333E-4449-AA05-E2D8DC410D7B.MOV
  20. Yeah it has one under the cover, see the picture to how much crap was in there
  21. Hi All, I took off the fuel pump and there was a lot of rubbish inside, I also took the carby off and it wasn’t too bad but the gaskets were all broken, I’ve ordered new carby kit and fuel pump. I will change the hoses too. im guessing there’s rubbish in the tank, the tank is now full and it’s a metal tank, what would be the best way to clean it, is it best to remove the fuel or do I get a pump and fuel filters and run the fuel like out of the tank and back in if you know what I mean? ive attached a photo of the fuel that was inside the fuel filter.
  22. Thank you very much, yeah I had a guy come and have a look and he too said to raise it up by 2 holes and use the current holes on the transom that are there.
  23. Thanks for the info I will do all these that you have mentioned. I don’t have a recording I remembered after I got of the boat, the speed was like at quarter full throttle and the power just wasn’t there. im about to do the fuel filter and carby and I will change the hoses. I will take off the water separator filter today and see how the fuel looks, he said he filled it up before I picked it up, but worried how long the old fuel was sitting in the tank. It’s a steel tank under the floor.
  24. Hi Frank, I actually didn’t check. But when I called him after I found this water he told me that he had kept it at a friends house and at one stage there was a lot of rain over a week and when he went to pick it up the boat had a lot of water inside and he had left the bungs in. Plus I have found open screw holes under the carpet also look like someone screwed some brackets in and then removed them but didn’t fill up the holes.
  25. Thank you very much, the boat had a water separator filter.
