  1. Is it possible that the timer is showing you whole seconds but is actually timing in tenths , hundredths or even thousandths of a second ? You may have been beaten by a fraction of a second . I stopped playing timed games because the mobile broadband where I am is a bit dodgy and it frustrated me to death having pages hang .
  2. Did you pass on any questions and answer them at the end ?
  3. Many years ago I did get some from the pond near the airport ( yellow circle in first picture) you could try the lagoon in picture 2 as well - no guarantees of there being any weed in these places today ! Other than that try the ocean rocks - sometimes you can get hair weed as well as cabbage - you will have to go and look for it .
  4. Back home today , only saw one cop at Cooma and they were getting coffee . The lady at the camp ground ( anglers reach ) said the siltation problem was from some sort of work that is being done at a dam upstream . I originally wanted to go to wyangla but my mate talked me into Eucumbene- not complaining though , still had a good time chugging around the lake .
  5. That mission was a success 🤣🤣
  6. Well we ended up trolling various lures ( inc tas devils ) from the surface down to around 15m , cast lures , jigged lures , used bait ( worms & power bait at various depths from the surface to 30m depth ) and finally in frustration I even tried a small popper as we had a fish snatch a Santa Claus off the surface and another swipe at a bubble that was rising from the bottom - didn’t even get a follow or lose a bait . I don’t recall ever fishing so hard for zip! Went up the Eucumbene river which used to be river pebble bottom but for some reason it is now mostly mud which isn’t good for trout breeding. Of all the other boats we seen , I didn’t see a bent rod or hear of anything being caught , other than fly fishing I don’t know if there was anything more I could have done . With winter approaching I think the next trip will be north coast luderick! The weather was great up until midday when a stiff NW breeze hit town .
  7. Yep I think we gunna have to go deep !
  8. Went up there today , horrible dirty water @ 18.5c . Trolled all the way up and back for zip , stopped at Hughes creek for a flick and got nothing . Try the other end tomorrow as the water iS cleaner .
  9. Dusk at Lake Eucumbene camp ground - cold beer , warm fire and a fishing trip tomorrow- God I have missed this - it’s been too long ! Mission objectives: Can I get a trout on a spikes half pilly rig ? Can I get one on an uncle vinnies lure or a gobblers and can I stay sober enough to even go fishing - time will tell 🤣🤣🤣
  10. Just a link to the E-petition to get the recent blue groper fishing ban overturned should anyone wish to sign it . https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/lc/pages/epetition-details.aspx?q=5JX6k21VduVEhC2zEkHKqg
  11. Considering the cost of a Stella and to a lesser extent a stradic I highly recommend the shimano service - your reels will come back working like new - I know I wouldn’t like to entrust a reel in that price range to a backyarder.
  12. I doubt that you can buy new brushes for it . They are designed to be use it till it breaks then toss it .
  13. Epic report Zoran ! Great photos also ! Looks like you got a good day to head out and got a few feeds - never seen smoked bonito before !
  14. Ok cool thanks Mike ! I didn’t know what the issue was , all i keep hearing from DPI is it is banned .
  15. They catch trout in their stormwater drains - we catch brown mullet 🤔 Maybe we could hire some of their EPA managers to help fix our broken system ? We put ponds into new housing estates and pump sewer into them !
  16. I asked them why it isn’t permitted at this one particular wharf - still waiting for the reply .
  17. Nice haul of fish there Larkin! Great report also ! You’re certainly making that JetSki earn its keep !
  18. Once posted I think only a moderator or admin can move it - can be a bit daunting posting your first few posts so I don’t think he will get a slapped wrist 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Help required.

You can do it on your phone and use YouTube studio to do editing iirc . I have only posted one video on YouTube and from memory it was just an upload and post scenario, much like posting a photo on this forum . I think that is probably the easiest way as you don’t have to play around with memory cards ( SD cards ) or data transfer like you do with things like go pros. There is a YouTuber out there that used to be on here that goes by the name Shroom , maybe contact him via his Facebook page and let him know you’re from fishraider- I’m sure he will help you . https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075385086881&mibextid=LQQJ4d

    AI blah blah

It is ok for basic stuff like flashing a light but ask it to create a sketch for say an internet radio or a PWM motor controller with feedback and touchscreen display and see how it goes ! As you know , you have to install libraries for pretty much everything that is connected to a microcontroller so the AI needs to know what libraries to select in the sketch and I’m not confident that AI is able to do that - being that there are so many different versions of most libraries , some work , some don’t and some are dodgy . This is why I rarely used sketches from a popular repository or hub on the internet . But anyway I’m over that phase in my life - Fishing is way more fun ! 🤣🤣🤣

    AI blah blah

Not a fan myself - I spent a few years playing with microcontrollers, learning how to program them using C++ and python. Then along come this new AI thing and all you have to do is tell it what you want the micro to do , what is connected to it , press enter and a few seconds later it spits out the sketch (programme ) ! There is a catch though - if you can’t write your own sketch you won’t know how to spot errors or modify it if needed so you still need to learn the language anyway. I get frustrated enough with spellcheck trying to tell me what I want to type ! I rarely use things like Siri - mainly to turn the camera on my phone on to take a picture of a fish I caught and that’s it . I remember when I was in high school and they first allowed us to use calculators , our math teacher said it will turn us into idiots and we will end up with people who can’t do basic math . Nowadays you just google everything and learn nothing . I’m certain that AI has its place in the scheme of things but we need to be judicious with its usage .
  22. These may be old videos but they show the main dangerous spots in Sydney and not all of them are accessible now but you must remember ANY rock platform can be dangerous in the wrong conditions ! Do yourself a big favour and either try to find someone with experience to go with you for a few trips or go with a guide - you will learn more about safety in one session with a guide than you will in a year of fishing by yourself . I know they’re not cheap but what price do you put on your life ?
  23. This season is really weird, my mate who fishes outside for flathead reckons last season and the one before were a lot better . Is it the rainfall , is it water temps or something else ? I don’t know. yeah I saw the workers on the bridge - I was heading to moony moony and all of a sudden across came this big boat with a guy on the flybridge flapping his arms around - he was the watchman to keep the boats away from under where they were working . Even at 4 am it was busy at the ramp !
  24. I have to use the holder/jig for all fg knots , the years of hanging on to grinders , jackhammers and the like damaged my hands so I don’t have very good dexterity now . When I was first trying to learn the fg I watched a lot of videos as one does but soon found out why they use such heavy lines - sure it makes it easier to see on camera but it makes it easier to tie and get a good looking result. Yet to see someone tie an fg with even 8lb leader and similar braid on any YouTube video I could find . I know Aaron from the Windsor bait and tackle YouTube channel uses an Albright or improved Albright knot as he finds it easier to do more or less by muscle memory and can tie it in the dark if he needs to . I would love to see some results from a test to see how much different they make to casting distance. There is an SG knot also .
  25. Great explanation Derek! Could come in useful for tying the spikes half pilly rig as well because you don’t have much leader to play with at the start ! Ever noticed how every FG knot video is always using heavy lines - try doing that method with 6lb braid and 4lb leader ! This is the knot( pitzen) I was taught by my mates old man and he was taught it by his dad , never knew the name of it until I watched this video ! I remember Geoff Wilson mentioning it in one of his books years ago but even he couldn’t find the name of it , he reckoned it was one of the strongest knots he had ever tested .
