Hads

Well… The plans was to get out early with @Pickles and @HadsJr for a fish and then pick up Mrs Pickles, my wife and daughter for a picnic on a beach. We launched from Roseville boat ramp around 6am and we’re on the bait grounds by 6:30ish. Yaka’s we easy to get and we had a couple of dozen in 15mins. Knowing we had limited time we headed to Long reef for Kingies but we were met with a swell that made it a little too uncomfortable for the size boat so decided for a flattie drift. We found the nursery and plenty of them but no keepers. Spikies and Blue spot. With not much happening we came in side the Harbour. @Pickles got smoked by what we assume was a big Kingy and @HadsJr landed a 38cm Bream. I caught bait fish… After this it was time to pick up the rest of the family and went Stores beach. We had a great afternoon eating, drinking swimming and jumping off the boat with the kids. Great report Bob. Feels like forever since I’ve landed a legal Kingy. A nice feed of flathead and good day out on the water is certainly great way to start the New year.

Another cracker session, well done. Looks like the guys loved it too. Those bass are going to see your tinnie coming and start hiding!

First time posting but have enjoyed reading quite a few post in the past and learning lots. Thanks! We wanted to chase Kingies with Pickles and my son but due to the weather prediction headed to Lower Portland for a bass session. With a total count of 62 hook ups and approx 55 landed we were kept busy from 6am to 9:30am. One flathead was also landed. All caught on deep diving lures trolling. It’s was my sons first session on bass and he loved it.
