Gday everyone.
first time post so double as an introduction.
took two friends out today (one who has a first time boater so always a worry). Late start from us and launched at rose bay just after 9.
nothing too complicated on set up, just bottom bashing on a paternoster rig chasing flatheads- using a mixture of frozen pillies, squid and a few beach worms that I save from last week that were gathered from Terrigal. All 3 baits produced results. Clearly not picky eaters. Location was about about 2kms from maroubra beach 50m depth. one of my regular spots that usually goes well.
great conditions with a northwesterly most of the day. Both blokes held up well and we managed to land a decent haul. First time fisher actually pulled the biggest of the day- measuring in 55cm, so you can say he’s now hooked.
All in all a great day. Somewhat surprisingly rose bay was quite for the long weekend, must be the cold weather keeping the boats dry.
Nothing beats beer battered flathead fillets Imo
happy fishing everyone
