  1. 🤣 Been doing a lot of the 4wd trails
  2. Yep, tried the rocks, throwing lures, fresh baits ect. Also went on a charter but litterally got nothing, the deckhand said it's been like this all year. They barely get any Jewies, no kings, mainly pearls and snapper. Yeah been land based as the currents are absolutely pumping and it's litterally impossible to get baits to hold bottom. Tried again this afternoon but nothing again, using slimies. Have seen small schools of baby bream but not bitting. Happy to provide more info over the next few days
  3. Yeah. Was meant to go this afternoon but blown out.
  4. Yeah. Was meant to go this afternoon but blown out.
  5. Been up at South West rocks over the last few days, been extremely quiet. 1 pearl perch and 1 marawong Thursday and 14 little tailor on a sugar pen on Wednesday, was quite fun with the sugar pen watching then jump for it. Also had a large silver fish, guessing tailor trailing my lure before taking off, guessing it was the dolphins that popped up pretty close that scared it off. Barely anything on the wall, offshore is extremely quiet. The crabs aren't moving at all, only getting eels in the pots. Been quite disappointing on the fishing side though with the rain, there's some nice mud pits for the car.
  6. Just as a warning, the outback doesn't surf launch well
  7. Fyi, there's quite a few people here who own outbacks, they all know the ins and outs of their kayaks, best to have a chat to them. Derek and I own a revo, Derek knows much more than me though. Good luck with it and hope you have fun and stay safe
  8. Yeah the outback would suit your needs best. Just be aware the new one is very heavy, much more then the older.
  9. Check front and rear of hull for thing plastic, pop your head in the hatch and shine a torch on the front and rear, if you see much light, its been worn hence dragged. just keep that in mind. Mine was like that on the rear so I just got the rear guard and marine goop and filled it. The clips for the pedal drive are a weak point, also the hole where the pedal drive goes through is prone to cracking. rudder lines wear out so check the rudder is fully functioning pedal dive, ive sheared the wheel and a couple of other bits. I bought mine this year, it was a YT kayak and then an offshore one, so its been used hard. came with minor issues but after a bit of care going strong, the hull is pretty bullet proof. you look after it, it will last, if you dont expect a living nightmare, like most boats though lol if your chasing a revo, mates selling his, its in pretty good condition happy to dm you the details
  10. thanks for picking that up, that would be on my end, been a while since ive done any math just want to forget about hsc lol. no hard feelings, appreciate you picking up on my error
  11. Yeah, couldn't agree more. Tried to break it down to be pretty simple. There's to many variables to properly predict the time it will take for your battery to charge. Sorry I was meant to say that the numbers are basically theoretical and under controlled conditions, as there is way to many factors affecting everything.
  12. Sorry for the confusion, been a while since I've don't any math. The 0.3 is 30% of 180 because lead acid stop releasing energy (running your electronics) at about 30% of total battery life. 30% of 180 is 54, so 180-54 is 136. 130 (remaining Amps in battery from 'flat' divided by 15 which is the rate at the battery charges. Hope this helps. Sorry again
  13. Just so we know are you trying to make one of these?
  14. Your never run a batter completely flat, sorry just wanted to make sure. I'm pretty sure for lithium ion, the lowest it lets you go to is 15-20% of it's capacity and for lead acid I think it's like 30-40%. Someone probably knows the exact figures, I just know a rough estimate For your battery your probably looking at: 0.3 x 180 = 54 that's your from 'flat' start point Then at a constant 15 Amps per hour would be 136/15 = 8.4 hours +- a bit due to battery health, resistance ect. These calculations are relying on ideal scenarios.
  15. Pretty sure it's cat food soaked with bread.
  16. Peir 2 and peir 8 are ok but need a particular burley
  17. Thanks, pretty sure the lock on the side shows it's secure to. Also be aware of pay id scams, I've lost a large amount of money to one.
  18. What's stopping you from drilling a hole on a bottle cork, running some fishing line through that and tieing it onto of the notches in the hand line? It will get in the way a bit but you will get used to it. Just make the line short enough, or just make a look knot which you run through something on the kayak so it secures your handling to the kayak. I do it with my tools when kayaking in surf, works well. Just make the line long enough to give yourself some working room without getting in twh way. Can send pics if needed
  19. Won't be because it's a cheap reel, U use cheap reels now and again with braid and that never happens. Only experience I've had that something remotely like that happened was when I over spooled my reel.
  20. Everything is weird at the moment. Couple of weeks ago, the break were on fire, usually never see or hear of anyone catching anything, instead they were everywhere. Also the mullet have basically disappeared, they're usually a plague, but recently been very quiet. The Jewish have been extremely quiet as well. What's even stranger is the rays have all but disappeared usually see multiple but last few times lucky to see 1 or 2. What's even weirder is that the sharks were around not that long ago, not in large numbers but they were around, now nothing at all. It's a bit concerning that everything is changing so much, let's just hope this is a one off
  21. I have the same issue on my car. I'd say that the battery has had it, guessing it's a lead acid? The power usage on your motor shouldn't be that bad through. Have you checked you don't have anything else wired to it? Have a look at the draw from the motor then add a bit for conditions, that should be an indicator of how long your battery should last. Leave a bit of wiggle room but if it's significantly different, (lasted a lot less than it should have) that will indicate you have a did battery. How old is the battery? They loose a bit of amp hours each charge, might also indicate you need a new battery. Hope this helps, probably not the worst idea to talk to a store as mentioned before
  22. Yeah Walsh bay can be ok. There's a school of kings that regularly live around the piers. I use 50 lbs braid and 50 lbs fluro, for kings. For trevs much lighter. Around the sides, there are squid, really slowly bring the lure back, personally didn't have much success but they are there, there's also yakkas there, but need burely. 1 st time there was broken off by something big, second time someone next to me pulls out a 10 kg bonito. The king's are weird there, best bait is live prawns though 👍
  23. will do, sorry not been feeling well hence not been active. the hayfever has really been getting to me
