  1. thanks for the advice you are right, looking at a rod from a guy near Newcastle who builds blackfish rods. I've just ordered the Alvey Float47
  2. Thanks I actually want to get my hands on a Alvey Blackfish 47VN2 but they no longer make them I have a Luderick 475B and want to get one more Alvey probably the Float 47. Any suggestions where I can get a second hand 47VN2 also looking for an estuary luderick rod around the 9 ft

  9. Frank it did cross my mind to check the Fishraider community for fishing gear but the purchase was a spur of the moment thing. I'm still looking for recommendations on a rod cheers
  10. Hi Raiders just purchased a Shimano Saragosa SW 6000 and looking for recommendations for line and rod. It will be used mainly for land based fishing for Kingfish so need help with line mono or braid and breaking strain the specs on the box state at the high end is mono 20lb 120yds and braid 65lb 140 yds. A mix of lures and baits to be used any suggestions on line and rod specs would be appreciated as I venture into fishing for Kings. Cheers Blackie66
  11. Just a quick update as suggested by some fellow fishraider members I reached out directly to Alvey today and ordered the parts for my reel . Thank you to all who posted comments cheers

Thanks Frank appreciate the offer the model is a 500B and the handle looks like the bottom picture, my handle is actually fine the bolt snap from the thread I had to drill out the remaining brass bolt I'm not sure if you can buy such bolt from bunnings. The bolt screws into the base of the reel cheers
