Managed to make the most of some decent conditions last week and get out on the water to try hunt down some snapper and kings. Whilst I had no luck targeting Kings (still yet to catch anything bigger than a rat) I did happen to pick up a couple of decent snapper. Plenty of fun on light gear. Unfortunately dropped what would of been the biggest one of the week after putting up a spectacular fight, but all part of the fun. Upon returning to the boat ramp I found a bloke at the filleting table, cleaning up an esky full of very decent size kings. Slightly disheartening…. but hopefully manage to turn my luck one day soon with a couple of days of nice conditions on the cards! Cant complain when you’re picking up fish like these two though! All in all a great few days out on the water!

Hey Raiders! After yet another somewhat unsuccessful day out on the water, I’m starting to think it’s time to enlist the help of a professional to gain some much needed knowledge. Have been doing okay on the snapper, and can always rely on a feed of flatties when things go south, however I find myself time and time again being defeated when it comes to targeting Kings! Was just wondering if anyone could recommend a charter around Sydney area? Otherwise would also be happy to pay someone for a day out on the water on my boat in return for some very valuable knowledge, and hopefully fish!… Cheers!!

Hey Raiders! After many months of not being able to get out on the water, the time has finally come. I have a brand new jigging setup I’ve been waiting so patiently to use, and would like to run it in today! However I’ll be launching in Pittwater, and am unaware of any jigging spots off the Northern Beaches? If anyone has any info they could pass on that would be greatly appreciated! Hey Raiders! Plan on heading to the fad quite soon, in an attempt to catch my first dolphin fish. I’m in the middle of rigging up some rods and was just after advice on what everyone has the most luck with? Is an unweighted dead bait the way to go? Single hook for a live bait rig? Much luck on lures or poppers? I will be heading out early from pittwater, and would like to pick up a few livies before sending it out. Is west head the best option for this? And any other essential information I should know? Thankyou !

Hey All! I’m relatively new (aka full blown rookie) when it comes to Jigging. Once this lockdown is over, I’m looking to explore some of the outer reefs in search of some decent size Kings. I’m just wondering what gear I would need to achieve such a task (rod/reel combos, what lb line)? I have a Saragossa 10000 which I am currently using. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as my dreams are currently much larger than my abilities/knowledge… Cheers!
