Royce how do you find the 9 weight for that application? I’m trying to choose between an 8 or a 9 for the same fishing. Cheers.

Yeah I’ve tried them a couple of times in the salt with no luck. But I can’t think of any reason why they wouldn’t work. They do need a reasonably quick retrieve though.

I’ve got one of the proper practice rods Ginko. I’ve found it much easier to cast with it than the real deal so wondered how much benefit it was giving me! Finding practice windows ain’t easy…

I’m in the same boat as you Adam. Its one step backwards one forwards at the moment! I’ve watched Lefty’s latest one recently (downloaded it from Epic Fly Fishing - they have some good resources). He’s a great caster but has a very unique style. I have found it hard to imitate. Something about the side arm action.

Great looking fly mate. I’m in the same boat as you - recently taken up fly (after a long time conventional) and love it but it has its moments at my starter stage!

Cracking bream mate. Great to see it done on fly especially!

Totally agree with this Ben. Have recently taken up fly fishing and love it but still have days where I think I should just break out the spinning gear and save some headaches… But just forcing myself to keep going!

Great work mate. Was following the thread with interest as I’ve recent taken up fly fishing after many years of luring. I feel like I’m starting all over again so I know how the doubts creep in mentally!
