  1. I got stung by a stingray once and the pain was almost as bad as when I broke my leg/ femer The only thing that stopped the pain was to heat the area with a cigaret lighter Having hot water onboard would be a better option
  2. Still can't believe how lucky we were to land that beast on such light gear, dodgy knot, small rusty hook and your pathetic angling skills ha ha. Should enter it for catch of the month. I also see it a fishraider record. We'll done mate. Hope we have more days like that one.
  3. Can you put myself and three others on the list please Jewhunter
  4. Have never caught or even seen a hair tail before but the boys and I are in. We are driving the boat up on Friday from Port Hacking and won't get there till late but Brent Jay Chris and Peter will come and register on Saturday.
  5. Keen as for my first fishraider social Can i get my name on the list pls
  6. Hi jewgaffer I'd be more than pleased to help you out with you GPS if you only need to know the basics like how log in a co-ordinate and set course to it. I cant say im an expert but i have used a few on friends boats and my own. I bought e-trek probably 10 years ago. ive droped it in the water a couple of times and has several hard hits when ive droped it but still keeps goin and is simple to use. Then i bought a new GPS chartplotter with all the gizmoes which i can use but find it complicated and frustrating to use when rolling around at sea so the chartplotter rarely gets used and ive gone back to the e-trek Im no a salesman for e-trek but if i can give you and other raiders advice it would be to keep you electrics simple. Dont use combination fishfinder/GPS/sounders. Have a seperate simple fishfinder and simple GPS most people wont use all the functions of expensive electronics. Ive currently got a handheld GPS, handheld VHF radio and simple fishfinder which im very happy with The boys and i have been having friendly fishing competions most weekends with two or three boats meeting at jibbon and heading down the coast. we have been catching alot of pan sized snapped at the moment and the best part is not many leatheries out wide. i dont think they can keep up with the current. We normally depart jibbon at around 7am. If we get there early I can give you a rundown on your gps and you can join our friendly. If you or any other raiders would like to join our friendly send me a pm. PS. Losing boats buy winning boat case of beer from bundeena for post comp celebrations
  7. Well done man Where were you jigging Im so keen to jig some kings cheers
