Nice One Mate, They tagged about 200 fish when they rebuilt the fishways Bass, carp, eels and catfish. I got two with tags just after the weirs were finished. They sent me out a couple of cod lures for my Troubles and gave me the history of the fish. Cheers

Nice fish Mate, I had a day a few years ago where the fish wouldn't smack the sammy 65. So I let the lure sit for up to a minute and the fish would take it from under water with out even breaking the water surface. Sometimes all you would see is the lure disappearing ,or the wake of the fishes back like you said! Cheers Mark

1020 Bass a Plenty!!

Hi Mate The squid in the Bay are not always a push over. I was out there yesterday also It took us about 3 hours to get 4 and I dropped about 5. The effort is worth it though, With in one minute in the water we had a king and the baits only lasted about a half hour. It was lucky I took a big frozen one that I had caught from a previous trip. All up we got about 8 rats a salmon and 1/ 73cm king. Cheers Mark

Nice catch Mate, your on the right track for the Jews all that rain would of sent the fish crazy. I used to love getting down there when the nasty weather came through and getting a few.

I have just returned from a Trip to Pormpuraaw which is a couple of rivers Below Weipa. It was my first time Barra fishing but it was sensational. The fish were shut down a little but the ones we got were of good size. We only fished with lures and we had to mix it up a bit to get the Bites ie casting at snags, Trolling and slowly working plastics in snags. when you go they should be on the bite a bit better. If ya fishing with guides you should have no troubles Good luck mark

Hi mate, as you turn into the road to go to Garie there is a track to the right. this will take you to a car park then you have to walk the rest. It s about 20mins down and about 45mins up the big hill. good luck Mark
